  1. It's selling like hot cakes again today, practically sold out shows everywhere, up & down the country!
  2. Will be interesting to see the DOM/OS ratio for this. The first movie (2003) actually did decent business overseas.
  3. Joker's OS run was something else. When that second OS weekend number came through, I lost my mind (in a best possible way).
  4. Jared Leto always looks like he stumbled from the set of Morbius and is ready to mousily apologize for taking the paycheck.
  5. Another massive business day today again in my market. The largest cinema chain has large swathes of near-/practically sold out shows throughout the land. Hopefully a fantastic OS Tuesday on the cards.
  6. Sales are looking very good for today and the coming week in my market before even taking into account all the walk-ups. Nice, nice.
  7. Hopefully we'll get strong weekdays everywhere. 🤑
  8. Finishing o/u $200m OS is crazy. A dreadful run even regardless of the bloated budget.
  9. Barbie $170,220,225 Oppy $50,200,250 Combined $220,420,475
  10. Paramount overestimated Indy but underestimated Barbie and Oppy. Thus, MI7 got squashed by the 🥪 sandwich of false estimation.
  11. I just hopes it gets great reception and great WOM everywhere. There isn't exactly an overflowing cornucopia of exciting OS runs left this year, so you wish that things that look to become massive DO become massive.
  12. As has been said, L&M movies are notoriously anglo box office - skewing. The craziest example might be the first Lego Movie (2014) which did about four fifths of its overall haul in the anglophone markets...
  13. Is there any particular reason why horror always(?) does well at the box office? I'm absolutely baffled. Is it because it has loyal genre fans or something? Or are horror movies more fit for a communal experience rather than streaming them home alone?
