Another massive business day today again in my market. The largest cinema chain has large swathes of near-/practically sold out shows throughout the land. Hopefully a fantastic OS Tuesday on the cards.
I just hopes it gets great reception and great WOM everywhere. There isn't exactly an overflowing cornucopia of exciting OS runs left this year, so you wish that things that look to become massive DO become massive.
As has been said, L&M movies are notoriously anglo box office - skewing. The craziest example might be the first Lego Movie (2014) which did about four fifths of its overall haul in the anglophone markets...
Is there any particular reason why horror always(?) does well at the box office? I'm absolutely baffled. Is it because it has loyal genre fans or something? Or are horror movies more fit for a communal experience rather than streaming them home alone?
