I feel like the inflated holiday weekend makes a 50% or bigger drop inevitable. Plus there hasn't been an MCU movie with a below 50% drop since, like, phase 1. But hey what do I know with how this movie's performing. -

My high school would get out mid-June and go back early September, but college got out mid-May and went back late August. -

There were some lines at my 3:45 showing on Saturday but nothing crazy like others have posted. I'm guessing the majority of people already bought their tickets online.

Not surprised that my theater didn't even make the list while it was in the top 3 for TLJ. My area is white as fuck.

The takeaway from BP is that a black blockbuster (say that three times fast) is not a detriment and can still make a cozy amount of money like any other type of movie. Anyone who throws together another black superhero movie and expects an easy 170M OW is gonna be in for a disappointment. It's all proportional; BP is attached to a franchise that's bigger than Jesus at the moment.

Civil War definitely helped Black Panther but given how it's looking to make more money than CW did... I'm thinking if you dropped BP in Phase 3 without the CW role not a whole lot would change. Lower OW, maybe. WOM would be the same.
