I think that the WGA not getting a residual model/revenue sharing model even remotely close to what SAG was asking pretty much dooms the entire negotiation process. It's gonna be really, really tricky to resolve.TBH expected these kind of slumps just like with WGA, this will likely be resolved by the end of the month, that's always been my prediction.
Wait till SAG though don't believe Deadline they're a puppet of the AMPTP

Knew these talks would be hard.Pretty sure this is the same guy that said the Writers strike wasn't going well near the end. Sounds like an AMPTP shill tbh.

I sure hope that Star Wars gets this same treatment because it's been bad and The Acolyte looks like it's gonna be hot garbage.

That Hollywood Reporter article just goes to show the concept of common sense is absolutely dead.
Disney's abysmal Marvel shows and the fixing in post production is the reason that VFX wants to unionize, these absolute fools have no idea what the hell they're doing and it shows.

You could have stopped right there, you know, as price hikes were coming even if Netflix and co rolled over the unions and got every last thing the AMPTP wanted.
Like, we *KNOW* this, so why the need/desire to "blame" the unions here?
I'm not blaming the unions whatsoever. I'm blaming corporate greed needing to make the consumers have to pay for what the writers and actors deserved already. They don't need to do price hikes in order to meet the fair demands of the writers and actors, it's what they want to do.

Predictable price hike is predictable, they weren't gonna give the writers and actors everything they wanted without making the consumers have to pay for it in the end.

Y'all wanna know what the main problem is with Ahsoka? It's S5 of Rebels. It's asking the general audience to have an emotional attachment to characters from a cartoon series that aired a decade ago. If you don't have an emotional attachment to these characters you're not gonna give give a shit about them.
Also the way they completely ignore characters like Zeb and Kallas is ridiculous. Ezra also is unrecognizable. The show sucks.
It had two great episodes and IDK why in episode 7 we are still dealing with filler nonsense.
QuoteIt's.... not that weak.
In fact, there's a decent chance it surpasses The Book of Boba Fett when all is said and done.
Yeah I'm sure these are the numbers Disney was banking on when they put all this money in Ahsoka and are building up to the Mando-verse Star Wars movie...

if something doesn't get resolved soon the governor and a third party is going to get involved to find a resolution because this is effecting the economy especially in California so the governor will get involved if things don't get done soon.

Yeah the wording is annoying with “nearing a deal, but if not tomorrow nothing until next year.” Why? That sounds ultimatum-ish which doesn’t seem great.
my prediction has always been october for the strikes ending.

I see people are still denying the importance of social media metrics on box office performance. It isn't 2005 anymore, social media is the new kingmaker. Studios spend many millions of dollars trying to build buzz on social media for a reason.
I mean if Musk starts forcing people to pay to use Twitter, it WILL die and there's no doubt about that.

True and they also have Harry Potter as well though I think that's gonna be a flop.

I read the book, I will watch the movie but I can tell this is going to be a bomb because the dystopia genre has died and it wore out it's welcome in the 2010's when Hunger Games ran supreme.
I don't think this is going to do well box office wise but I do think it will be received well by everyone that watches it, regardless of how big or small that audience is.
The trailer though good lord so many spoilers for non book readers. Like if you care to dissect the trailer, there's like barely any mysteries in it.
QuoteRachel is the type of actor nobody cares about enough to watch something, and despite doesn’t having fans she does have a lot of haters
The dislikes from the trailer on Youtube are clearly from the anti Zegler she has created with the comments she's made.

Netflix definitely wants to get a deal done especially since they have a new massive hit with One Piece. So even now with Stranger Things ending they got their next big flagship show already set up for success. Avatar I don't have a lot of faith in because the creators left over creative differences with the showunner.
Disney has Percy Jackson coming up which I'm excited for because it looks great towards the book though I am nervous of the demographic it's targeting. Ahsoka isn't being as well received as they expected which is a damn shame I love it however I can understand that for this show specifically they wanted the audience to do homework in the thing of watching Rebels which not a lot of people watched. Ahsoka is basically S5 of Rebels and if you didn't watch Rebels you have no attachment to any of these characters.
Max has almost next to nothing that can salvage it at the moment.

i still say the biggest thing this weekend is gonna be One Piece especially after stellar critics and audience reviews and trending the last 3 days on all social medias. The movie slate this week is weak tbh.

Some of the worst shows i've watched recently (Rings of Power, Mando season 3) have higher RT scores than this. TV critics are the easiest marks.
So explain to me why Bebop got ripped to shreds by these same critics?
And the thousands and thousands of fan reviews? Maybe you should watch it, it's actually quite good. Instead of judging it without seeing it. It's NOT Cowboy Bebop.

There's hype among the fanbase which is more than any other live action anime adaptation had. the like/dislike ratio on that trailer posted is good. i mean there's every chance anyone who's not already into One Piece is just gonna check it out and say "what the fuck am I looking at here?" so it may flop idk.

What was that about being dogshit?

Nah screw the movies this is what's gonna be the biggest thing this weekend.

I don't think it's being an optimist. The networks know that they can't afford to lose the 2024 January slate, even if it's a condensed episode count they need scripted content.
-
WGA and AMPTP are gonna have to meet in the middle somewhere and I think they will soon. Probably in September.
Expect the January 2024 slate of shows to be very condensed episode count of probably 10-13 episode seasons.

Yeah and yet that can have a S2, trash it and save a billion dollars.

it's not gonna take till 2024 to end bruh relax. Talks will probably resume in a week or two.
We all just need to be patient especially since we're likely very near the end of this strike. It's just another bump on the road.
