stupid shit like this is not cool. you're not going to get payed for every hour people stream the movie, even I think that's pushing it.
this moron acts as if she was wearing the vecna outfit for 20 hours a day. meanwhile there's women that make 20 dollars an hour wearing that outfit all day at the theme parks.
Streaming services absolutely need to be relegated and I think there should be an agreed upon price but you would see a massive surge in the price per streaming service if something like this would be approved. Which would be the death of streaming services all together.

I think we as a forum need to agree not to post trash that gives the AMPTP revenue of any kind which when you post links to their articles helps give them money. The same way posting this guys tweets and clicking his profile gives him money as well.

stop posting these outlets owned by the AMPTP.

If you RTFA it's a lot less dramatic than that headline indicates
“As of now, there is no agreement on these items, because the AMPTP said they needed to consult with their member studios before moving forward,” the union said in a statement late Friday."
There wasn't gonna be any kind of official progress today regardless of what was said. Frankly I fully believe this because it's the WGA giving an unembellished account of bureaucratic procedure.
Exactly this was just the start of negotiations. I don't expect a deal to get done until september/october.

The fact that Warner was assuring their investors the strike would end in September makes me think they do intend to work something out eventually, but they'll drag it out as far as it's suitable for them
A lot of insiders have suggested a deal will not get done until after Labor Day weekend.

for those hoping negotiations on Friday will go well
there's nothing wrong that was said here. it was just saying that the studios better come to the table with legit aspirations to get a deal done.

I think the networks will create contracts away from the streaming services that's why I think October is when it will end. Because the Networks want fresh new original content ready to go by January. New seasons of in demand shows like The Rookie and Abbott Elementary for ABC for example.
-
i think whats going to happen is by october the networks like abc cbs nbc fox etc are going to try to find their ways to resolve this away from the streaming services. because they need content.
BC more then likely they want to have deals in place so that they can start airing shows in January.

Oh this is going till at least October.
Most people think they won't even start negotiations until early September so yeah more than likely.
Still laughing that they got a deal done with the directors guild when directors have already said they're not filming again until SAG and WGA get fair deals.

Many youtubers with insiders in hollywood like grace randolph and john campea are hinting that they don't expect anything to get done until after labor day weekend from their sources in the industry.
Also it seems shows can still be renewed amidst the strike, Righteous Gemstones just got renewed for S4

It's a damn shame the strike is going on because Netflix has two pretty big things coming up in August.
To start the month they have the second season of Heartstoppers which is a critically acclaimed very charming lgbt series and to end the month they have live action One Piece which looks really freaking good and is seeing a massive positive spin and ton of viewership on trailers to build the hype.
It's a shame none of the actors in any of those projects can promote the shows upcoming seasons.
I'm sure One Piece will get a second season because simply put Netflix doesn't have the big thing they want yet. Witcher when Cavill leaves is gonna tank. Stranger Things has one more season. If Cowboy Bebop did not completely suck it probably would have gotten a season two but they got the tone completely wrong with that show. One Piece looks immensely loyal to the source material also the fandom for that is so damn massive it's gonna be hard to believe it won't get the viewership. They're even giving anyone that doesn't like the dub cast the chance to listen to the original japanese cast for the subs.
Heartstoppers got renewed for S2/S3 all at once.

Question can networks renew shows during the strike or no?

Barbie has a significant chance at crossing all of them; also regardless it's gonna make more profit than any of those films because of the budget.
joker literally made a billion with a budget of 55 million. This is a strong exaggeration.

Expecting strike to end in October so any movie coming in November or above is getting moved to 2024.

if this doesn't end in a month , I'm thinking its settled in November or January
i don't see why the studios don't meet somewhere in the middle with residuals , they must be scared shitless with reporting real streaming numbers, all this AI demands from the studios should be dropped for the next 3 years
I've always said with the actors inclusion this will end in September/October. Still sticking to it.
Also I think the movement of Dune is likely because if the chance that they don't Chalamet doing lots of promotion for two movies in back to back months once it ends. Have at all be focused on Wonka till its release and so after Wonka they can put all the energy into Dune p 2.
