  1. lol parody of what? the action sequences in john wick are better than the 90% of action movies out there
  2. It's not like these awards have never had questionable choices before. Sure, if you only look at the stat then GOT s7 was the best TV had to offer in 2017.
  3. I was being hyperbolic, but GOT can't get the claim to be "on of the best TV shows" anymore when there are dozens of shows better than it now. GOT has had a good run, but it's obvious the moment it outpaced the books, the show fell flat on its face. TWD is dead to me 😎
  4. Well let's hope so, but until the critics start to do that then I will remain pessimistic. Unfortunately I don't think the numbers from RT support this theory. After 6 movies, DC has an average audience score of 73.5% and average Audience rating of 3.88/5 Meanwhile after 20 movies Marvel has 83.25% (13% higher) and 4.07/5 (4.9 % higher). If critics are influenced by their audience then their ratings should somewhat reflect the audience rating right? Instead here are the stats: DC: Average tomatometer 51.17 % - average critics rating 5.82/10 Marvel: Average tomatometer 84.05 % (64% higher) - average critics rating 7.2/10 (23% higher) The averages show that the GA indeed like Marvel more than DC, but not by much. It's the critics that are massively favoring one over the other. Of course 6 movies is a very small sample, and BvS and SS really skew the average tomatometer, let's see how the averages change when DC has more film under their belt.
  5. Critics are generally harsher on DC than Marvel (or more lenient on Marvel than DC, depends on which way you view it). It kinda makes sense, when you are on the fence about a movie, it is safer to give Marvel film a fresh and DC a rotten based on their respective past performances. This explains why average Marvel movies get above average ratings and average DC movies get panned. So unless Shazam has really outstanding script, I'm expecting sub 60% for it.
  6. I was meh about the theatrical cut of BvS, but the extended cut was quite good, not the greatest of course but certainly not the garbage people assume it to be. Probably the film was too real for its own good and I guess people just didn't expect it from a shm. The philosophical theme was great but the execution could be much better. Supes and Batman are great ( Jonathan Kent's story about the horses gets me everytime). I even really like Lex, almost everything he said is pure goodness (he could tone down his laugh/chuckle though, I hate that part). In case you haven't watched this yet, here's some pretty good defense for BvS:
  7. Speaking of Snyder, I hope DC doesn't abandon his interpretation of superman and batman in future films. The man has some really good idea, but just lacks the skills to pull it off on screen.
  8. What will they do when the child actors become too old to play the parts? Will they recast them? Also critics are gonna rip this film to pieces. I'm expecting 50% RT.
  9. Plus shm is really a versatile 'genre' (if it can even be considered a genre at all). While the current movies are mostly action/ action-comedy, there are so much more they could do: Watchmen is neo noir and The Joker looks more like a thriller than the "traditional" shm. Western style films can be made with characters like Jonah Hex and with horror we have John Constantine, Swamp Thing and other magic users. Even Batman himself can be used in a murder mystery film. I think in the next decade we will see DC and Marvel be more experimental with their movies.
  10. James Wan sounds like he was having a lot of fun making this movie
  11. Not sure if a team up between AM and Orm can work, both of them are a bit too similar to each other.
  12. In general both critics and audience love it, so I think it's not only me finding the show fun to watch. AV Club put it in the list of best TV of 2018, and this part from one of the review basically sums up season 3&4: Basically it's a dumb fun show that doesn't take itself too seriously and it embraces the ridiculousness and cheesiness of the genre. @MrGlass2 Flash suffers from having 20+ eps per season and results in too many fillers or characters acting dumb to lengthen the plot. They should shorten it give some more episodes to LoT instead.
