The 2nd trailer did help Captain Marvel to trend on social media when it came out, boosting the public's awareness on the character. A part of the film's success is based on the association with Endgame so the more the PR brings her up, the more interest it builds. So it does help. Many who went to see the film went because they think she is going to defeat Thanos so they want to know who she is.

8.5-9 million dollars for Captain Marvel? Ugh. So I guess 28-31 million might be where the film ends up landing. It's going to make less than Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 did in its 3rd Weekend. Disney should have released a Endgame TV Spot which included Captain Marvel. Oh well, at least it's killing it overseas.

25 would be more insane. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 did 34 million in its 3rd Weekend. I'd say 36 million makes more sense. 40 would be great.

Titanic is essentially Rose's story. Even though Kate Winslet got second billing, the story is told from Rose's perspective and there's a long stretch where Jack is mostly off-screen as Rose is trying to find his whereabouts. You could also say the same about Elizabeth even though in Dead Man's Chest, she was given the least to do out of the three leads.

Thursday (03/14/2019) Numbers - Early Estimates.
ShyGeek replied to charlie Jatinder's topic in Numbers and Data
At worst, even if it does fifteen million dollars, it is locked for the 300 million dollar mark. For example, Suicide Squad and Spider Man: Homecoming had steep drops in their 2nd weekends yet were able to have enough legs to withstand the drop and ended up being major successes. -
Is 19 million locked and if yes, can it increase? For comparisons's sake, The Hunger Games did 18 million on its second Friday (went on to do 58 million for the weekend) whereas Guardians of the Galaxy did 16 million and went on to do 65 million for the weekend so it is dependent on what kind of increase it will have on Saturday. If 19 million ends up being the final number for Captain Marvel, I expect 60-70 million.

Friday early predictions for "Captain Marvel": 19-19.5 million dollars. -
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 did 7.5 million in its first Wednesday. Thor: Ragnarok did 6.2 in its first Wednesday. Even if those numbers turned out to be correct, it still is a solid number for Wednesday.

It will probably end up with the same numbers as "Black Panther", if not more. -
Monday (03/11/2019) Numbers - Cap Marvels 10.9M

I was disappointed with the staggering weekly drops of Captain Marvel in China. Thankfully, the opening week was large enough to have the film cross over into the 100 million dollar club in China. It will probably end up with 120 million dollars by the end of its distribution. -
It's slightly more than Doctor Strange (-15%). I am curious to know if the weekend runs counter to week days because the Saturday to Sunday drop was fairly solid. I think it can. Black Panther had a 81% drop on its second weekend and still managed to cross over the 40 million mark. I think 40 million is safe. Also, no competition and trailer of Endgame about to arrive next week.

No. It's fairly solid. There have been better holds but this is a March release.

We'll see. What should have it been like for the film to get a decent result on Tuesday? -

2nd Weekend will be the ultimate decider. -

Aren't drops to be expected on week days? I don't understand how a 25% drop on Tuesday means the film is fading since films tend to make a lot less on week days. Some are acting as if the film is a disaster of epic proportions like Star Wars when it is performing as expected on week days. -
Week Days tend to experience huge drops especially on week days in a March release. This drop just seems bigger than expected because of the big numbers Captain Marvel did in the Weekend.
