  1. And this was just Action and badass moments, but biggest achievement of the movie was to showcase Steve Rogers the person, his ideals and his immovable will. That is important, Steve Rogers the person was perfectly presented alongside Steve Rogers the Asskicker. What a pitch perfect movie and even more perfect character presentation.
  2. Winter Soldier is basically a, love letter to Captain America by Russos. Right from the scene one till the end, it presented Steve Rogers as the coolest & baddest person on the planet. The fact that movie was great helped, but you didn't even need to watch the full movie, you were sold on Captain America the moment he faught a bunch of goons in an elevator and then jumped of it, capped by him fighting hand to hand combat against a Quintjet.
  3. Or maybe people just aren't interested. You can't just put failure of movies on angry online mobs, either to blame them or angry online mobs taking credit for some movies failing. Why can't it just be result of recent bad track record, lack of interest, not much popular characters and unexciting product. Let's hold makers and the product itself accountable for a change. Amgry online nerds can blabber on internet and make you tube videos, but eventually a movie live or die by the general audience.
  4. Hate by Nerds isn't affecting Marvels, it looking like some uninteresting tv serial level movie is coupled with reception of recent few MCU outings. And Kevin Feige could've done one very basic thing that could've avoided this, and that is making Captain Marvel a charismatic, likeable character and Captain Marvel a good movie. So what you're seeing now in terms of Marvels tracking, the seeds were sown back in 2019 itself and neither the movie, not the character turned out to be good. And on top of that the other two characters in Marvels are also not that popular. Eventually in that case, you would need something extra to pull crowd which unfortunately for Feige & Disney, is not there to be found in this movie.
  5. Well since you said about many things in Eternals that didn't hit the mark. As an Indian, i don't claim that Kingo was anywhere near what a Bollywood Superstar would be. It's like Miles away. Anyonw who has knowledge about Indian cinema would know. And coming to that, the dance and song sequence was plain horrendous, entire audi was laughing and not in a good way. It was sad to see an Oscar winner presenting something like that, just a little bit of research and practice would be better if they really wanted to put that sequence. Good thing is that RRR showed how song & dance sequences really go in our movies to the western world, hopefully they forget what Eternals showed.
  6. Entire MCU became so big die to the fact that they attracted general public who haven't read much comics, if any at all.
  7. That's what makes a person in costume doing action different to another person in costume doing action. Make people care about the person, then they'll react to even a single punch thrown by the persona. If people don't care about the person, they won't care if the persona can blow away an army single-handedly.
  8. Problem with Captain Marvel is not Captain Marvel, it's Carol Denvers. Captain Marvel is a persona, Carol Denvers is a person. That's the issue with most of Phase 4. MCU Infinity Saga was so successful because people used to come for Iron Man or Captain America, but they used to stay for Tony Stark & Steve Rogers. Same for most of the characters, this is what gives the context to Iron Man or Captain America and all that action & explosions. It was all so personal, and people connected with it.
  9. Also this also gives answer to someone above comparing MCU characters with Spiderman, James Bond or Batman/Superman. Unlike those characters, MCU characters were not A listers, they are not worldwide popular characters, they were made by actors..... RDJ made Tony Stark what he is, Chris Evans made Steve Rogers. Same goes for most of MCU characters. Easier to replace actors when series is different like Bond, Batman or Spiderman and they get rebooted. Because the character brand is so strong. Problem with MCU is that they want next Captain America, next Iron Man, next Thor, next Hulk, next Hawkeye, next Black Widow, and it doesn't work.
  10. Threads won't matter if the people don't care about the characters. One thing that absolutely doesn't translates from comics to cinema is this. You can have unlimited stuff in comics, unlimited stories and unlimited characters. But in movies, you can't. Sadly in real life, actors age or move away from the contracts. It's not so simple to just replace the character in movies once the actor is done. The hole remains no matter what you do.
  11. Avengers 1 & 2 and Civil War acted like a connecting thread between Iron Man and Infinity War/Endgame Something which is missing currently. Just Imagine Iron Man to Infinity War straight, without Avengers 1 & 2. Avengers movies were so important for people to see the team interact and warming people up to them, even the lesser known characters who didn't get solo movies. The Team is important.
  12. And the biggest problem for MCU piost Endgame is that most if the characters they've introduced are just bland and unable to excite audiences, so the flaws of the movies are not excused. I personally was fan of Dr Strange and Wanda..... And Multiverse of Madness just ended whatever excitement i had for MCU by ruining Wanda and wasting Dr Strange in his own movie. We all know what happened to Thor. Eternals, all exciting characters were supporting and the 2 main leads were boring. Kang lol. And where is Shang Chi after a promising debut. And post Endgame there are so mant characters that I've lost count, there's no focus. And biggest question - Where Are The Avengers.
  13. First thing, it was fresh and new, Avengers was something insane and brought so much excitement for the franchise as a whole. The focus was there, characters were less but most were fleshed really well, people got emotionally attached to the characters which made people ignore some of their flaws. And quality was great too, yes there were clunkers, but even at worse they were watchable stuff. Even something as bad as Thor the Dark World had Loki and Thor bantering..... Which brings me to the second point again - Characters. Avengers movies did a really big job for the characters, even Age of Ultron's best moments were when characters were interacting with each other. The thread was there, one single storyline which everyone knew was leading to Avengers movies and those Avengers movies are leading to the ultimate Showdown.
  14. Finally someone said it, it is annoying. Personally not impressed, not to my taste. But some people like it, so opinions opinions.
  15. Also another thing is that MCU had made not much efforts to convince people to go watch the movie. Shang Chi for its time was interesting because people were looking for a new direction for MCU, and Shang Chi promised that, so did Eternals. Now Marvels is just there, what's the reason to watch it, if it has something to do with future of MCU then tell the Audience, and if it is related to Skrulls and stuff, then MCU has shot in their foot by Secret Invasion. Currently it is looking like some Streaming movie with a character that hasn't had much to do in MCU so far and 2 streaming characters and they are doing their things. Those who are interested in these characters may watch, rest can give it a pass.
  16. Excellent point about not everything in comics translates to Cinema. The point of "It happened in comics" is dicey because it's a completely different medium. Case in point - I don't know how it looked in the Comic panel, but Council of Kangs in Quantamania looked awful.
  17. First of all, Young Avengers is a really bad idea, i really don't think that out of all the young people they've introduced, anyone has captured the public eye. Also i don't know why would they put all her eggs in Ms Marvel character basket, is she that popular in Comics? And if they were so confident then why not give her a movie from the onset, giving a character on free Streaming is first step to tell audience that this character isn't that important.
  18. Which is weird because even if they didn't trust her popularity, the other two characters are even less popular. See i didn't like Captain Marvel the movie, nor do i have any love for the character, but it definitely Should've been Captain Marvel 2.
  19. Finally, something interesting about MCU. Since their content isn't, we will do with this.
  20. All i know in that in my country it's already a Flop as it is clashing with a Local Blockbuster. First Captain Marvel did really well here, it was Highest Opening Solo MCU movie till No Way Home, although most of it was Endgame hype.
