What matters is that for whatever reasons, Paramount had to spend 291 million on the movie, so now what should be seen is whether they make their money back or not. What budget getting inflated duue to unavoidable circumstances like Pandemic does that is studios won't cancel the next movie or anything, so that's a safe zone because of a legitimate reason. But that shouldn't stop people from discussing about the profit & loss aspect of the movie.

If movie didn't had the budget of 291 million and Tom Cruise wasn't coming off from TGM and Fallout wasn't one of the best action movies in recent times and DR Part 1 hadn't gotten glorious reviews and there wasn't Barbieheimer in 2nd weekend. Good thing none of that happened, so good Opening.

Dinosaurs have an appeal which goes beyond age and cultures, beyond nationality and boundaries. Plus the niche is totally empty, big budget Dinosaur Mass Entertainer..... Only Jurassic Park franchise is there for you, no competition and no overexposure. Plus Jurassic Park is one of the most influential movie of all time, it changed cinema in a way and is a fan favorite among people of various ages. Dominion fell little behind in youth audience, but that's got to do with its content more than appeal. And whenever they release next Jurassic movies, it will be successful too and will be bigger than Dominion too. But in that case the content needs to be actually good this time, as popular the franchise is, you need Quality to back it, don't need another Dominion or Eden Fallen Kingdom, give atleast a Jurassic World, a big ticket crowd pleaser and see Box Office rampage.

Flash then Indy, this Oppenheimer promotion is getting out of hand.

I didn't say they wanted, i was talking about perspective of makers. Why would you want a hero which people loved, (and you're supposedly making a Legacy sequel) as broken, bitter person who is less competent. Being 80 years old didn't change the fact that maker can show whatever they want. And again, doesn't matter if Weekend is 100 or 50, it wouldn't hurt to get good scores.

Well the magic of movies, it's in your hands the way you want to present a character.

Some of the reviews have mentioned that Indy has been casted side a bit in favor of young new protagonist. I mean, why would you do this, if you are invoking nostalgia then give the people the Indy they love rather than an Indy who is just a shell of his past self.
