  1. Hey be fair they werent off thaaaaaaaaaaaat much......well maybe a smidge To be fair I dont think anyone saw the boffo-ness of those films.
  2. @keysersoze123GOTG 3 closest I have is a T-14.....it has double plus numbers at T-14 vs Marvels numbers I posted earlier at T-7 T-14 # theatre #show Seats Sold Seats Rem Ttl seat Percent Vancouver Thurs 4 21 613 3698 4311 0.1421 Fri 4 26 527 4517 5044 0.1044 # theatre #show Seats Sold Seats Rem Ttl seat Percent Calgary Thurs 4 21 458 3708 4166 0.1099 Fri 4 25 294 3698 3992 0.0736 And here's T-3 for GOTG 3 # theatre #show Seats Sold Seats Rem Ttl seat Percent Vancouver Thurs 4 26 1157 4192 5349 0.2163 Fri 4 26 1161 2879 4040 0.2873 # theatre #show Seats Sold Seats Rem Ttl seat Percent Calgary Thurs 4 26 656 3097 3753 0.1747 Fri 4 19 744 3592 4336 0.1715
  3. So that number is down for seats sold/available from previous count. Otherwise, Calgary seems pretty static with Vancouver making noise.

  5. I do admit I am tempted to check presales for "Thanksgiving"-esp seeing as here in Canada we had ours 2 weeks ago
  6. That "Anyone But You" I thought you were being clever in the "anyone but you is aware of this film"-then I realized thats the NAME of the film lol (which in an ironic way I havent heard of this film, so it may as well be right LOL)

This restart has been helpful, a different way of setting up my sheets makes it a little more efficent (REALLY miss the "Seats sold/seats remaining on the website though.)
  8. Endgame.... That.....that was an experience alright, one i wont forget anytime soon. It is very easy to fall into the trap as @Porthos said. You start feeling good with one film, you start tracking 2, 3 at the same time, different release sizes...then BOOM an endgame type film comes along and it gets crazy real quick and aforementioned burnout happens. Stick with what youre comfortable with, even if its just 1 movie title at a time-it all counts. Thinking about Endgame, think I might go lie down for awhile now lol
  9. As others have said well, just find something comfortable and just start. It might just be 1 theatre in your town, There are ways to count, from people using scrapers to get data to just manually counting a theatre from a website. Don't worry about getting into things like comps if you don't want to, even just a simple "Theatre X Five Nights at Freddys 200 of 400 seats sold" type of thing. Any data is good data and we are all just volunteers doing what we can. Even if you can't do every day but just pop in every few days, its all good and it all counts. It is very welcoming here, effort appreciated, whether its 1 theatre, a number of theatres, or countrywide. Just do what you feel comfortable with
  10. Might just be one of those things were Canada is doing "Canada things" when it comes to films. I do know that FNAF IP is pretty popular up here. I can certainly see the Marvel comparison in that it doesnt "feel" like a horror film (to me anyway). Just feels like its own thing, something a little different, and perhaps Canadian filmgoers are digging that maybe.

  12. I have to admit streaming a film BEFORE the embargo lifts for its theatre opening.....its certainly a strategy...I donèt know to what ends but strategy nonetheless
  13. Five Nights At Freddys Thurs Oct 26 Vancouver Canada Vancouv # theatre #show Seats Sold Seats Rem Ttl seat Percent Thurs 3 15 12 185 2632 0.0045 Only Thursdays showing for FNAF (ONE has a Friday night, but Id rather wait till Friday nights are available for all or at least most of my theatres, little hesitant of just including ONE theatre)
  14. Same here. Looking at Toronto locations only two locations right now, and they are arent at some of the bigger (Yorkdale, Scotia, Yonge and Dundas) like they usually are. Hopefully we see more pop up. But yea its hard to track when the ones I track arent doing the presales
  15. Its such a joy sometimes dealing with Canadian box office stuff isnt it? edit I really do enjoy doing the counts But man they make it......interesting sometimes.....
  16. Slowly gearing back up now to getting some more numbers, finding a balance between on and off puter things. Its still a bit sticky and just trying to do whatever I can. As for the whole "dbox/non dbox seats"-Im musingwith my counts just keeping a separate track of total "dbox" seats and "non dbox" with the two seat totals obviously coming to total seat amount. That might be something slowly worked in though over time, still just easing my way back in here.

  18. It would certainly be an interesting perspective. Its always a bit of a challenge when US says "tickets on sale now!" and Canada is like ".....nahhhh". I worked for a Canadian theatre many many moons ago, just usual floor stuff. Still was an insight to see how my managers were always kind of talking/haggling/trying to figure out how many shows they would get, how long a run ect (and this was LONG before Pre-sales were ever a thing). Also there might be different negotiations for films for Canada from US from same Studio. EDIT: FNAF just hit for presales for Cineplex EDIT 2: Give it some time as there is barely any theatres showing, so Ill probably take a look tomorrow where we should start seeing a more reliable amount-Wed probably even more as thats when they like doing their adding of volume.
  19. I definitely thought FNAF would get a bigger window for Canada dates for presales. I havent figured out why the decisions being made as they are (never have really with them LOL). Maybe they (whoever "THEY" are) felt that Canada wasnt as a big a market? Just pure speculation on my part. Only thing I can think of is MAYBE they were thinking Marvels was going to have a bigger presale and so wanted to hedge their bets as to their inventory. Again, pure speculation on my part.
  20. The Marvels Vancouver Canada Thurs Nov 9 # theatre #show Seats Sold Seats Rem Ttl seat Percent Vancouver Thurs 3 18 96 3900 3996 0.0240 Gosh back to some sense of normality in tracking! I will be getting Fridays included soon enough and hopefully back to cities like Calgary and Montreal soon.
  21. I had hoped at least for App users it would stay up for the seat counts, even if website was not doing it. Im slowly building up some excel stuff where I keep the the max seats available, along with it being AVX-IMAX ect. But its slow and even then Im pretty sure Im not getting absolutely exact numbers, more close approximate (yes I am counting those individual seats per theatre, not its not fun-but then Im weird that way lol). Its why my counts havent been as much recently (though in case of Swift now its pretty much down to "when is it a sellout") And welcome @Jsmitty-always good to have another Canadian view
  22. Taylor Swift Fri Oct 13 Toronto Canada Toronto # theatre #show Seats Sold Seats Rem Ttl seat Percent Fri 4 13 2566 352 2918 0.8793 Yep Swift just keeps moving along nicely.
  23. No new afternoon shows that I could see, there was what looks like two shows (2 theatres 1 show each) added for an evening show. Im surprised that the Matinees were taken out, they sold like hotcakes-I know I heard it had something to do with the Britney agents not wanting them-maybe trying to do the "limited scarcity" type thing-but money is money right?
