  1. The Academy doesn't need to do anything because this fake issue is media/twitter driven. There really isn't a problem with the process or the categories.

If there is an issue, it's with the voters doing the nominating who CHOSE not to vote in enough numbers for Awkwafina, Lupita, Gerwig (as if she was one of the top 5 anyway) or anyone else that was fake snubbed. Whine about the voters or better yet don't. In about 20 years or less you will see a consistent diverse list of nominees as the old voters/old hollywood will have perished by that time.

Denzel Washington has 8 Oscar nominations but 0 BAFTA nods, is there a reason why the British Film Academy keeps refusing him? does any other actor has this many Oscar nods without BAFTAs

    Now that's wild!

Well that was a chore to watch through.

Ricky's opening was A material and then he was disappeared for the other 2 hrs and 50 minutes essentially. Quite unreal despite so many moments he could have pounced on with a biting joke yet not allowed.

1917 winning was pretty awful. I don't care that it was supposedly a one take shot. Big whoop, that doesn't make the film good, great or better than the films it beat out. I watched that in December and it was a let down for me. Dunkirk level bore.

Would have really liked JLo to win. That would have been interesting especially after learning Dern already has 5 damn Globes already.

    Happy for Awkwafina.

Fine with Egerton but would have preferred RGD or Eddie.

Glad Joker won score and that Phoenix won. His speech however was a joke.

  8. This came out on Netflix 01/01/2020. Has anyone binged it like I did? I got it completed in about 2 days. I found it to be very interesting, thrilling at times and most of the characters kept my attention and by the end of the series it left me wanting / desperately hoping they make a season 2. I thought the season was well acted and the storyline flowed very easily for me and a variety of characters were weaved together while not becoming a mess. My standouts would be the three main leads so far Dehbi, Sisley and Monaghan. I also liked the character of Jibril. We have a couple other side characters like the President, his Chief of Staff and the preacher's daughter that could have expanded roles in the future. I think the series was helped by just having two directors for all the episodes and I just read Roma Downey and Mark Burnett were involved as exec producers which could be a good sign about a season 2 as they have some clout.

If you like a drama mixed with fictionalized real world events and a bit of religious fantasy this might grab you.

  9. After that first episode it was a bit of a bore until the last 10 minutes. Now I'm four episodes in and it's got my interest. One thing I'm a bit confused on is there seems to be some time jumping happening or the episodes are playing things out of sequence. Idk. I got confused by Yenefer saying something about doing decades of work in some royal court and the sequence with Canathe declaring a wedding and then being dead a few scenes later. I think Henry Cavill is doing great. I like the "Hm..." you see in the CC viewing of the film. I like the bard and that first song was catchy. Hopefully I can finish the season today.

  11. Those last two episodes peaked my interest immensely. I enjoyed the action, comedy and drama of it all. Glad IG-11 was brought back and it's good to see friends of Mando dying. I'm interested in the new planets we'll be visiting next season and I feel like they will work in a lone wandering jedi somehow. Also, the appearance of that dark saber was a jaw drop. I haven't watched Clone Wars or Rebels but I was aware of a couple episodes that did have that weapon in it so to see it show up in a live action piece is exciting.
