I was never a huge viewer of Friends but my favorite character was Phoebe. I was more into Seinfeld during that time period.

I watched season 1 sometime after it first came out and really enjoyed it. I’ve been wanting to watch #2 but getting sidetracked with so many streaming items lately
-
One of the few shows that I took the time to Binge recently besides Unbelievable that came out recently.
Anyway, I really liked this show. It had pretty good special effects and characters you could root for and against. I thought the story was very well done and kept me glued the whole season. The end was quite a what the hay moment. I don't know how excited I am about seeing the Butcher because it's such a lopsided affair between him and Homelander. I also thought some of the power sets were overbalanced. I'm excited for season 2 as you don't know which way this show is going to go.

I have a Letterbox account too but I haven't been on top of that but I would say it's probably the 2000s or 2010s. Probably 2010s because of Moviepass and I went to lots of preview screenings. A couple of those years I was in the high 70s.

I'm loving this Joker box office run. It's nice when a film surprises from initial expectation.

I haven't got to any oscar bait films/hasn't come out yet but I would like to see Lupita nominated for her dual role.

THE JOKER
When I first learned of this casting I was like...why. There already is a new Joker from the SS. I thought this trash was all going to be connected but now we are going back in time. What on earth was happening. Well, that first trailer grabbed my attention. It suddenly became a must watch for me and even my dad got interested in watching this after he saw an ad about it on tv. First, while watching this movie I loved the music/soundtrack. It had a very TDK vibe to it's score. I also like the song choice when Joker is dancing down the steps. Second, Phoenix is so great in the role. The Oscar talk is legit and it would be a pleasure should he win for such a performance. He was able to bring out the pain and struggle of the character in ways you could relate to in terms of therapy and needing medication to maintain control and being a person who wants to be kind yet the world around him eventually forces him a different way. Reading other reviews talk about their opinions on what was real and what wasn't and when is interesting and I didn't expect Beetz sequences to have been imagined. I certainly found it weird in one sequence when he knocks on the door and she answers and boom he thrusts himself upon her and she goes with it. Weird but I didn't think it was fake at the time so that was a surprise and makes me want to see it again. Finally, the violence in the film is not over the top. I've seen worse in other films. All the killings were pretty obvious they were coming but it was still suspenseful and heart pounding at times. It's a definite future purchase for me.

AD ASTRA
I had some interest, not a lot though in watching it. Only chose to see it because a friend wanted to go and he brought two others. Breaking it down, my friend thought it was worth a once view, his brother thought it a bore and the last guy actually fell asleep. Yes it was a late showing but still. Myself, I thought it was okay, it kept my attention. Those of us who were awake all agreed to some degree that it had interesting music and some nice visuals. I enjoyed it the most and thought the space visuals were excellent. I can't ever get enough of planetary views of Mars, Jupiter and the moon. The moon sequence was exciting and his escape from Mars as well. I thought Pitt was good in the film and it's his film. He didn't bore me. In the end though it becomes disappointing with the ending. Maybe it's believable that after all those years in space his father really found nothing but with the technology they had when it only takes 80 days to get to Neptune I don't believe he would have found absolutely nothing (besides nice pictures of various planets) but that's the film's message to me. Whatever.

Top 30 was a bit too much. Anything past #7 and I don't think I ever watch or haven't watched in years but my Top 5 would have been:
1. PULP FICTION
2. SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
3. FORREST GUMP
4. INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
5. SPEED- 1

I signed up for YT just for this show and loved it as well. It was nostalgic and funny. I liked the role reversal of the bully from the movie becoming somewhat of a role model in this show. Been waiting for season 2 to start for some time now.

Never played the game but my interest lies in just watching new content and knowing Netflix loves spending money so hopefully good production value.
Coppola/Scorsese vs Disney over the State of Cinema
in The Speakeasy

They were both wrong and Coppola probably jealous as he hasn't done anything good in a while. Why are they bashing films/genre that drives people to the box office in the first place? Also, a majority of films being made are not comic book films anyway so I don't understand the complaint about small films losing their place in cinemas either. What they should do is actually make one of these comic book films and put their own touch on it, not be someone in the background like Joker apparently. Direct one of these and lets see what they can bring to the table instead of being jealous about it.
