According to Deadline the international numbers were slightly higher too, +0.9 million for the weekend, so add that to what's currently on BOM. The number is $16.3 million for the weekend, $1.88 billion overall internationally and $2.684 billion worldwide (including Monday for North America).

can you give a link to deadline which mentioned the international numbers? thanks

    Pass 100M GBP in UK-£12.5M

    Pass $500M in China(First Hollywood movie)- $0

Very good hold for the weekend. 845-850M is likely and if it develop any late legs could push towards 860M. Os hold wasn't particularly good but it has done so much so fast that holds weren't going to be great. A little over 100M away from Avatar WW, right now it looks likely to finish within 15-20M of Avatar. Disney could do small re-release which would be enough to take WW crown but we will see how things play out.

EG did dethrone Avatar in SK. Beating the admissions record that it has held for Hollywood movies for nearly 10 years. EG should finish with 14M+ admissions. Phenomenal performance and legs weren't bad either.

Another shout out to Brazil, it's total is up to $81.6M and admissions are over 19M+ both are records. Mexico with $75.6M and 23M+ admissions, former is the record holder and latter is about to surpass the all-time record admissions set by Coco. Fantastic performance!!!

That $81.6M is est??? The whole week it gained $2.7M more?

Infinity War added $56.9M overseas (minus China) after its fifth weekend. If Endgame survive much stronger competition (Godzilla, X-Men, Pets, Toy Story, etc.) and also add $57 million from now on, it will finish with over $1.307B + $629.1M China (according to Deadline) = $1.936B OS. Avengers needs than at least $852M domestically to beat Avatar. So it still has a chance.

Considering much more competitions in some next weeks, hope it can earn 50% of that IW's which is $28M. DOM ~$845M (?) + $628.5M + $1.255B +$28M = $2.757M. Between Avatar's Initial release and Second release.

Let's be fair to them. I for most of my expectations made stance that, EG increase on IW will come from weekend only. When that 357 happened, I was still thinking of 800-850 full run, but the Monday was absolutely crazy. That's when I lost my mind and started expecting 975mn+, though not for long, just a week after, I was at 900 and another week bring me down to 870s.

The new projection for EG you posted already included hard drop for EG in the 2 following weeks or not? So that I can I can some reality in it.

I didn't even remember that there was any break between Avatar's releases. :P It was like one, long initial run, so I wouldn't give a damn when Endgame beats Avatar's original run.

    From reddit BO,

8th August, 2010 - it ended its first run, it earned 4000$ On its last day and it was in just 1 theatre in whole of USA.

Avatar was in theatres for 234 Days.

On, 27th August,2010 - The Special Edition was released, it earned $1.23M 1st day and was released in 800 theatres.

Hmm according to BOM IW's 5th weekend was 14.5m (OS - China) and it went on to make about 50m more (again OS-China), if my calculation are correct. Including DOM's 50m after Memorial Days 4-day, that's almost exactly 100m more it grossed after this weekend WW. If EG does the same it would be only 10m short of Avatar.

Dunno why @Charlie Jatinder is throwing in the towel yet. It's too close to comfort, the champagne bottles remain corked for the time being...

Hmmm? After Memorial Day, IW  made how much more dollars WW? Someone said earlier $143M ???

Nothing against Jim, but to me titanic and avatar aren’t even good films. Avatar lost best picture to The Hurt Locker. :hahaha:

I love Jim Cameron films like Terminator 1&2, Aliens, and true lies. I’d rather he go back to making movies like those.

Edit: I’d even go far as to say Terminator 2 is in my top 10 all time favorite films.

Box office and money put aside, I don't like Avatar too ( it is not that I hate it). The visual was very good (no need to talk more about it). But the storyline and characters were boring for me. Titanic was better in this aspect.

This is why I don’t bother to comment in this thread much and just follow for numbers. It’s getting more and more embarrassing in here every day.

Very happy about EG’s performance btw. After IW breaking out last year, really thought EG gonna at best match it, not massively increase like this, especially after just one year. The two-part story gonna combined to be close to 5B WW. Crazy for a sub-studio.

China delivered big time, as did Asia in general, but the performance in Europe is really impressive as well, breaking out past the genre with 500M+.

Latin America is the most unfortunate though. EG easily trumped The Avengers (2012) in admissions and local currency everywhere there, but in total US dollars I don’t think it’s much ahead. Anyone can provide me the total for EG in Latin America up to now? Last I read it was around $220M? (TA had 207M for the region)

From Deadline last weekend (19th May)

It is also the highest grossing movie ever in Latin America ($257M) and Asia-Pacific ($1.094B) as well as the No. 7 biggest in Europe ($493M). During the 4th overseas frame, Endgame held No. 1 in several Latin American markets, as well as five in Europe.
