  1. My Hero Academia Denver Friday 802 tickets sold in 7 theaters Demon Slayer comp: 3.15M Only counted the theaters that Demon Slayer released in, and 2 of them don't have showtimes. Also I realize that Demon Slayer isn't a great comp because of the state of theaters at the time. But this was just a rough check and I probably won't look at it again

  5. Did they specifically say Oct 20th somewhere? Oct 6th would be better, but Oct 20th is probably enough room before Marvel’s Nov 3rd slot if they decide to put it there. Edit: Nvm just saw it in the dedicated part 2 thread
  6. Yeah Denver and Megaplex had a really good boost and sustained that. I don’t see how Eternals will come close to the next 4-5 days of BW.
  7. Better than the pace over the previous 2 days, but before that it was increasing by 60-70 per day. So no change from that

Black Widow really started to pick up this week, so we'll see if Eternals can match that with the reviews we've seen thus far.
  11. Dune Megaplex Saturday(171 showings) 6464(+1860)/45722(+1180) in 15 theaters NTTD comp: 18.17M Friday's NTTD comp went from 17.27M -> 15.87M, so the comp is holding quite a bit better today. Obviously it's not gonna hit 18M today, but it's a 14.5% increase from yesterday's final NTTD comp. Not sure if it'll increase that much nationally, but I'm pretty confident in around a 10% increase like keyser was thinking yesterday.
  12. Helps that there wasn’t a bump post reactions in Denver, but yeah, the pace has been great.

  16. Yeah I’m not sure anyone should have expected pure walkups to do better(sales after the first showings of the day started), but I was hoping for a bit better last few days of presales. That really put the nail in the coffin for something like 45M+
  17. Dune Megaplex Friday(170 showings) 6889(+523)/45490 in 15 theaters NTTD comp: 15.87M It'll should still be stronger here than nationally, so I doubt it'll reach 15M+. Judging by the pace, walkups will be weaker than NTTD. I'm hoping for 13M
  18. I read an article where Denis explains that. Mild spoilers but I’ll put it in a spoiler tag https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/movies/story/2021-10-21/dune-movie-book-changes-explained-denis-villeneuve? But yeah, some of the scenes with the Harkonnens felt chopped off/strangely cut.
  19. Dune Megaplex Friday(170 showings) 6366(+925)/45490(+486) in 15 theaters NTTD comp: 16.15M Black Widow comp: 19.60M I may have to take back what I said about this being the second biggest opener of the year for Megaplex. NTTD will beat it with this pace. Still gonna be close though

  21. And I’ll add, this may be partly due to me finishing up to where the movie stops hours before my showing. So it was all very fresh on my mind even though I tried to leave my expectations from the book at the door.
  22. Really enjoyed it. Wasn’t perfect, but I’ll definitely see it again. It was so amazing in IMAX. Tonight was the most packed showing I’ve been to since TRoS. I agree that the score was a bit much sometimes. There were some parts where I felt like they were jumping around a bit. Sometimes it didn’t feel like a natural ending to a scene and suddenly we cut to a different one. But all in all, it was quite good.
