Ugh! How is the RT score lower every time I check?
It was at 79% like 15 reviews ago 😅
-
Damn, this is down to 78% already. -10% in the last 50 reviews.

RT fresh certification after less than 100 reviews? Too risky.
Certified fresh is definitely risky, yeah. I don't see this going rotten, but under 75% is a distinct possibility.
-
RT is down to 84% with 64 reviews, so this will continue fluctuating significantly for like another 100 reviews
-
Man, I thought 70% RT would be a good result yesterday. Good for Blue Beetle! Very solid chance it dips into the 70s since top critics aren't liking it as much, but much better initial result than I expected.

reviews predictions:
Rotten Tomatoes: 84%
Metacritic: 62That would be really great. I'm gonna go maybe 70% RT / 58 MC

It’s not even about my opinion though here. If audiences felt at all like critics about it, it would have been literally impossible for 2 to bomb so spectacularly out of the gate. It is baffling 1 is ahead of most cbms ever made on RT. Though tbf, the mentioned anti-Snyder effect could make sense.
And what’s this “kids movie” thing about? It was PG-13 and marketed to the same audience as your average cbm. Also, any critic worth anything doesn’t give a movie good reviews just because it targets kids.
Movie had an A CS and achieved a 2.6x DOM multiplier despite being sandwiched between Captain Marvel and Endgame?

Levi never ceases to sound delusional in his statements. It’s really funny to see the star of Shazam movies talking about quality with blockbusters being the issue.
Shazam 2 was poop, but the first Shazam was a great, refreshing CBM when it came out.

I remember a few years ago a member on this site who's no longer here and I can't remember their name, but they were from Ireland or England and they started recommending some European horror films to me. I remember watching some Irish horror film that literally scared the shit out of me. I had to turn the lights on I was so unnerved.
That's what I love about horror films. There's so many of them that don't get a mainstream release and a lot of the European horror films I've never even heard of. And then you get a film like the one he recommended to me and then this one that you recommended to me and they both turn out to be these gems of a film.
So yes thank you once again for mentioning it.
If it's available to stream in the U.S., I think y'all just made me realize what I'm watching tonight 👀 I unfortunately caught the new strain of COVID on Wednesday, so I have a looooooong weekend ahead of me that needs as many distractions as possible lol

I think after The Flash I'm not taking any DC reactions to mean anything until Gunn's universe kicks off. I will be seeing this next weekend though, along with TMNT and Theater Camp!
-
I just bought my parents, who live in a different state, two tickets to see their first viewing of Oppenheimer (in 70mm IMAX, no less) the afternoon of Saturday, August 19th...almost a full month after the movie's release in theaters

oh, it’s going to play right through the Fall in 70mm, isn’t it?
If it plays through September I have to head to a wedding and can catch it in 70mm IMAX that weekend

Fury Road in theaters was epic. I was a senior in high school, so perhaps a tad too young to fully appreciate it the way that I would in college and beyond, but I remember my buddy and I couldn't stop raving about it

I have never seen films have higher growth than their presales on Friday from THU but these two films have done it for two weeks now. Its frustrating. It doesn't make sense either.

Which one is $8.25m - TMNT or Oppy? I'm guessing Oppy since you're remarking about the growth for the past two weeks

Finally saw this on Wednesday. 7/10 for me. Good, but rushed 1st act, wack 2nd act, fantastic 3rd act. Gosling's performance really elevated the so-so comedy for me. Would love to hear from those of you who adored it!

I hope that Oppenheimer estimate if too low by at least $215K so that it crosses $200M on the same day Barbie crosses $400M.
Would love that to be the case but wouldn't that make it basically flat with Weds? I suppose it's still possible

Y'all are really getting mad over an article where the source is comicbook.com. I would definitely pump the brakes on any outrage before that shit is actually confirmed lmao

Sunday-to-Monday drops:
Barbie: 29,3M --> 14,9M (-49,1%)
Oppy: 15,06M --> 6,9M (-54,18%)
Monday-to-Monday Drops:
Barbie: 26,1M --> 14,9M (-42,9%)
Oppy: 12,6M --> 6,9M (-45,2%)
Fantastic holds for both. Barbie continues to dominate while Oppy holds strong despite a 3 hr runtime on weekdays. You truly love to see it

Amazing numbers for Barbie and Oppy either way, but I hope Oppy inches closer to that projected 18.5m+ from Voldemort than Deadline's18.1m

Still looking like $18m for Oppy? Any chance for a late night bump?
