This thing is really about to end up on the verge of rotten after all those euphoric CinemaCon reactions, huh? I haven't seen the movie yet, but WB gonna WB, I guess.

Decided to stay out of the box office tracking thread as much as I can for this film's opening weekend, but it appears that this thread might be...worse??

Have just seen this and I enjoyed it. A lot.
Although the parts after that and before the third act didn't really have much action, they had most of the funny moments (and some sad ones).
After seeing this, those who were complaining about the vfx (or at least those who used the argument just to make the movie look bad on social media) were exaggerating.
Some parts could be overwhelming visually, I get that, but I wouldn't call them terrible.
What I really liked here was the sound mixing and musical score. I don't know, but I think this could be nominated for an Oscar.
What Muschietti did with Keaton and Affleck as Batman was amazing. His treatment of the two is probably my favorite. Their action sequences were 👌👌👌.
Calle was great as Kara. Shannon, on the other hand, was just okay. Like, he did the best of what was given to him.
And finally, I didn't expect this to be that sad. And I have to give props to Miller. No matter what people think about him, he was the star of this movie. He was awkward and funny when needed. His scenes with his father and especially with his mother was just emotional.
And I still can't wrap my head around his scenes as two Barrys. It's crazy how well they were done.
Excluding the BATMAN solo movies and THE JOKER, this is DC's best after WONDER WOMAN.
So my top 3:
WONDER WOMAN
THE FLASH
MAN OF STEEL
Edit: I am so for Muschietti directing THE BRAVE & THE BOLD.
So glad you dug it a lot. How did your audience respond? What would your CS prediction be based on your reaction and the audience's? Hopefully A- at least?

Verified score is at 98% after 50+ reviews. Obviously these are early shows for largely DC fans, so we won't know the reception for sure until Thursday/Friday. I'm going to pencil in an A-, with the caveat that this would be an A without the stupefyingly awful VFX.

This thread has reached heretofore unseen levels of obnoxiousness tonight, lmao.
Between people acting like they've never seen a Hollywood premiere before and giving the ESPN play-by-play on Ezra's degree of sedation and claiming Gunn didn't attend before moving the goalpost to "Gunn doesn't want to be there," some of you are hyperanalyzing every second of content related to this movie to find new methods of shitting on it.
You'd think the reception was BvS level by the way people are talking about this thing.

The Flash, Elemental, and No Hard Feelings

The discourse around this particular movie is so exhausting that I'm just excited for it to come out so we can move the hell on and be one step closer to anticipating Superman: Legacy and The Batman: Part Two.
I actually expect Blue Beetle to get better reviews than The Flash, but I have to imagine Aquaman 2 will be a comical disaster.

It's not even the quality of the CG (which is admittedly pretty mediocre), it's the very specific camera movements and angles. At 0:07 it really looks like the player is about to be given control of Supergirl.
It's for sure the quality of the CGI. Transformers just had a ton of stupid-looking digital camera movements this weekend and it did gangbusters relative to expectations! Every big blockbuster has them, and the camerawork in this movie has been cited as a positive in a lot of reviews. You know what has been panned across the board? The CGI. It's horrendous and taking me out of what I believe will be a decent story.

well tbf the flash has kinda shit reviews from top critics as well
Average rating matters here, though. 6/10 is passable, but disappointing. 4/10 is really bad. On MC, The Flash is currently at a 60, and Transformers at a 42.

The Flash potentially opening under a Transformers movie that had middling reviews overall and shit reviews from top critics is kinda mind-boggling. Let's see if it continues to fall or has any sort of comeback in this final week.
-
To be clear, we're waiting until tomorrow to gauge the Sunday comps updates, right? Or Sunday night iirc?

Thread is depressing. Well-reasoned and very likely, but depressing.

So, is it safe to say that $100M+ OW is 50/50 for The Flash?
Much less so, in favor of sub-100m. 90m would be an excellent result at this rate

Positive reviews from NME, Screen Daily, Metro, CNN, JOBLO and Cinemablend have yet to be added to the RT page. This will definitely go up and down I think.
These are all RT-approved? Nice.
-
As much as we hoped the RT score would stabilize after 100 reviews, The Flash has dropped 4% between 103 and 115 reviews.

This is pretty good actually. It's still falling behind ATSV comp, but holding vs GOTG comp and even gaining on the Fast X comp
Please let this be the start of some good to great days for The Flash...obviously weekend sales will slow but next week

Just noticed the RT consensus changed:
"The Flash is funny, fittingly fast-paced, and overall ranks as one of the best DC movies in recent years."
It's been trending downward today, so I'd expect some language changes closer to release.

Reviews are average at best (or at least too meh to really move the needle)
It will rely mostly on WOM to carry it during week 2 and on
Yeah, I guess it's all relative for a CBM to be frontloaded while something like Transformers, despite poor reviews and, if the early verified score of 83% with <50 reviews means anything, meh WOM, has great walk-up business. Hopefully it gets an A CS, but I could see The Flash getting an A- purely because of the awful CGI.

We can't trust All Audience at all, that mf was at 79% with 10K votes as soon as verified audience opened at 98%. Review-bombing in droves for SURE with all the controversy. Let's just look to verified which is pointing to an A- this early. Transformers at the same stage was at an 87% IIRC
