    Sunday-to-Monday drops:

    Barbie: 29,3M --> 14,9M (-49,1%)

    Oppy: 15,06M --> 6,9M (-54,18%)

    Monday-to-Monday Drops:

    Barbie: 26,1M --> 14,9M (-42,9%)

    Oppy: 12,6M --> 6,9M (-45,2%)

    Fantastic holds for both. Barbie continues to dominate while Oppy holds strong despite a 3 hr runtime on weekdays. You truly love to see it

  2. Really hope Barbie and Oppy can somehow scrape by $29/14, but half a mil less for both wouldn't be the end of the world.

    Seeing Talk to Me in about an hour during a thunderstorm - perfect ambiance. Then Barbie tonight after the storm clears before an all-day beach day tomorrow. Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

     Barbie is going to need a bigger dream house as the Greta Gerwig directed comedy is now looking at a second weekend of $90M at 4,337 theaters, -44%, for a running total of $348.3M. It’s not surprising to see a higher figure, given how the Mattel doll has pulled in Marvel like grosses of $20M+ daily during the weekdays. Friday is looking like $28M, -60% from a week ago. That second weekend for Barbie isn’t that far from the $90.4M weekend two of Beauty and the Beast.

    Univeral’s Oppenheimer is seeing a second Friday of $14M,-58%, and second weekend of $47M, -43%, for a ten-day total of $174.8M at 3,647 theaters.

    Disney’s Haunted Mansion is seeing $9M-$10M and a 3-day of $25M at 3,740 theaters.

    This is a promising start for midday sales, and @keysersoze123's update gives me hope for maybe $28.5/29m Barbie and $14.5/15m Oppy

    They got the exposition out of the way and set it up beautifully for Part 2 to blow everyone’s socks off. And with multiple extended IMAX sequences, its ex-China B.O should definitely top Fallout’s ex-China…

    I've been meaning to ask this: DR Part 2 is confirmed to have sequences SHOT FOR IMAX? That was genuinely my biggest letdown in DR Part 1 lol

    Yeah looks like a lot of the IMAX 70mm locations that might have shown Gran Turismo or Blue Beetle have changed their minds and they're going to show Oppenheimer instead.

    More more more!

    I'm BEGGING Lincoln Center to extend Oppy's reign. I would seriously consider a 3rd viewing there and take the Amtrak into the city. I'm locked in for Dune 2 there as well

    Bought tickets to a show at my local 70mm IMAX theatre so I can get a taskrabbit tasker to get me a filmstrip. I really want two but I am not sure if they would give two filmstrips to one person with two tickets, and my local cineplex is impossible to get ahold of on the phone. Ah the frustration.

    No joke, I would venmo or PayPal you for an extra film strip + shipping :hahaha:

    I'm also doing the Talk To Me/Barbie combo this weekend. I'm actually seeing Barbie twice since two different friends want to see it at different times at different locations. So that's three trips to the movies and I still have yet to see Oppenheimer which I was also looking forward to watching.

    Cheers to Talk to Barbie 🙌

    Though who shall not be named says 23.5M for Barbie and 10.7M for Oppenheimer

    Let's bump those to $24m/11m so both movies suffer a single-digit drop!

    So no one's watching TALK TO ME.

    Got my tickets for Saturday morning, then finally seeing Barbie Saturday night!

    Oppenheimer 7pm IMAX showing tn at my local Regal theater in Syracuse, NY is at probably 80% capacity. Only the first 3 rows are still fully available along with a handful of scattered single seats throughout the rest of the theater. And my theater traditionally underindexes due to so many others tracked here because...it's Syracuse.

    Barbie's 6:05pm RPX showing only has 36 seats sold, so hoping for a bigger walkup push there. 7:10pm primetime 2D showing has 30 seats sold.

    Barbie RPX showing up to 53 sold. 7:10 standard show up to 50 sold. Oppy IMAX showing is actually "only" 67% full at this time of writing - 246/366 seats are occupied w/ 25 minutes to go until previews.

    They only give them out the first three Fridays!

    Wait, so every 70mm IMAX or regular 70mm theater has enough film to distribute to every moviegoer attending a showing during first three Fridays? This is confirmed?

    I'm not near any 70mm theaters but if this is true, I seriously might have my buddy buy me a seat at his 70mm just so he can receive the film and mail it to me lol

    Share your final 2nd weekend predictions by 11:59pm ET tonight for Barbie and Oppy.

    Closest on each gets a free month of Gold tier (no ads, more likes, etc.).

    Must quote this post so it's easy to keep track!

    Barbie: $96.3m

    Oppenheimer: $53.8m
