so guys , what should be the benchmark for this movie to be not considered a failure? imo 100m Dom total 300m WW seems perfectly ok to me for a new character.

DC serving quality once again. When they do it , they do it the best. DC fans must be happy today , considering even I am really excited to watch it.

They are not DC fans. Maybe against the thread rule but I don't count Snyder fans as part of any civil discussion.

Raya and Luca are not like TSS. Plus, Black Widow and F9 won't be that far from breakeven and might even make some profit. TSS is not going to open anywhere close and it's budget is comparable plus it's having a big marketing push also right now.

I will not count out TSS yet , reviews are going to be great just wait and watch. People trust James Gunn and with solid reviews , I can easily see a 40m+ OW. I was little apprehensive at first but hype is building up. -
Good reviews but it's not gonna breakout or even do moderately well , literally most people don't even know this exist

I think Captain America is very interesting character. It's really amazing how a character with such name and personality became so famous worldwide. Usually, it doesn't happen. I mean Captain America is famous in countries where usually such characters are boycotted or made fun of.

Ant Man 2 and SM FFH also had big drops but stabilised after that. And Ant Man 2 actually had A- cinemascore. It's very obvious what's happening right now if you think about it. Covid cases are literally rising again.

Literally everything is dropping, wom is not important factor anymore. Also, it's not like Black Widow has bad wom that some people are trying to push. How is it hard to belive that people are again becoming disinterested in going to cinema? You will see this soon as more movies start to release. We are far from normalcy.

Blaming actors for failure of movie nowadays is arbitrary. Considering even The Rock is gonna give big flop next weekend and we all know his acting skills.

He won't be affected much from this. It's not like Star power is a thing nowadays barring few. Even Ryan Reynolds is not a draw beside Deadpool. Free guy is coming to bomb even if it's good.

But what's the point if most markets remain closed? Spider-man is huge in Asia , are they going to risk all that to release the movie in Christmas? I am betting we will hear the news of moving by mid-August.

NWH definetly seems like a movie that will move. Eternals and Shang-Chi will be releasing this year for sure. My bet they move MCU by one more slot.
