  1. I think there was something about Will Smith being into some creepy Scientology stuff when After Earth was released but is it
  2. I will say this about the reboot: Neither side came off looking good at all. Yeah there were some childish men who were vocal about their member berries being violated, but the news and sites honed in on them and ignored people who had legitmate issues with the movie. The response to James Rolfe's video was a wild overreaction and more childish than his video funny enough. Don't know news thought that video was newsworthy. Some one didn't want to watch a movie after seeing trailers? Ok And?
  3. You know that Trades and News sites are going to be smug about the Ghostbusters Afterlife's performance considering the movie panders quite a bit to Nostalgia and "listened to the fans" yet it is losing to the reboot the internet hated so much 5 years ago.
  4. Well the Great Depression crash happened in 1929...soo But yeah unless Delta acts like it is doing in UK, i don't expect a big recovery from the movies very soon. Everyone should get vaccinated, even if you have a breakthrough, it'll be much than without a vaccine.
  5. Tommorrow Land, and Jungle Cruise. When will Disney learn that Pirates of the Caribbean was a fluke. Of course, it helped that the first Pirates movie was actually good, but still.
  6. The funny thing is that even though this movie predictably would turn out bad, Snake Eyes somehow is better reviewed than all the other live action G.I. Joe films.
  7. Outrage sells. If there is anything gamers and nerd culture loves more than anything it is getting mad.
  8. https://www.indiewire.com/2021/07/nato-blaming-disney-plus-for-black-widow-drop-1234652392/
  9. When was the last time a Traditonally 2d animated movie opened at number 1? Sucks that even SpongeBob 2 and 3 were CGI.
  10. Not really sad to not see another Escape Room. The first one i felt was medicore at best and this one doesn't seem any better.
  11. Big Chungus is just simply too big for Nastasha to handle. That explains the big drop for BW
  12. The people who care about what critics say weren't going to watch Space Jam in the first place. I don't even think the huge crossover thing is a deal breaker either. Fortnite and Smash Bros, two big games are also corporate commercials. And the Internet just got started hyping itself up for a Nickelodeon Smash Bros clone.
  13. No one cares if Critics thinks Space Jam is a bad movie. People still love it and fondly remember it the same just like Independence Day. Same most likely applies to this new one as well.
  14. I think that we'll just have to deal with a big chunk of people preferring to stay at home to watch a film rather than go to the a movie theater. Pre-Pandemic levels won't be happening for a long time if ever. Streaming like HBO Max, Netflix and Disney Plus are going on for the long term.
  15. I just think that The Hitman's Bodyguard just didn't need a sequel. It wasn't even a particularly good movie. It is something to watch on Netflix and then forget as soon as the credits end.
  16. If i'm guessing why In the Heights is dropping poorly, it is cause the movie itself was hyped up by Twitter and social media and no one else which explains its poor opening. And it seems like Twitter has a problem with the lack of Afro-Latinos.
  17. How many of those 693k were going to watch In The Heights in the theaters in the first place though.
  18. I think We're just going to have to accept that BO is never going to return to what it was pre Pandemic. HBO Max, Disney Plus are all going to be long term investments for these film companies. Anyway, if anything streaming will likely bring back the mid budget films that Hollywood has been neglecting in favor of big Superhero and Animated blockbusters
  19. I Just think the IN the Heights box office thing was ultimately just a Twitter bubble hype. Of course HBO Max hurt it, but i don't think it would have done much better. Twitter and Social Media in general have a way of making things look like a much better deal than they actual are.
  20. I wonder when we will actually get a really good video game movie and not just watchable to decent popcorn flicks like Pikachu, Sonic, Rampage etc.
  21. Never thought i see an Anime movie give a action blockbuster a run for its money. Good. So tired of nothing but CGI cartoons dominating the Box office. No CGI movie has impressed me since Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. I only hope Space Jam 2 doesn't spent too much on that horrid CG spot.
