im with gambitpool, what I believe covid taught people is that they dont need to see a movie in theaters unless it's something they're really excited by or if it's one of those "must-see-in-theaters" movies. since covid, every theater visit I've done has been carefully planned weeks in advance, while before I went just because, that's how I ended up seeing the tom hanks Mr Rogers movie despite knowing very little about the guy. There's no way post-covid would do something like

from what I understand from the website, together with what Charlie has said between 4-5 million of its 58 million gross comes from pif pif money is only added to the box office total when a "free" ticket gets redeemed (in the form of a promo code you use when buying a ticket the normal way, which turns its cost into 0.00) maybe there's a lot of pif money waiting to get "spent", but it all depends on how many people try to claim free tickets, otherwise, it'll remain in the studio's hands and doesn't affect box office

nah the fine print says the "pay it forward" money goes directly to angel studios, who has the right to keep the money if no one asks for "free" tickets or use it for promotion a person who goes to the website looking for free tickets gets a promo code, with which they are able to buy a ticket that costs 0.00 dollars, the studio then, with the "pay it forward" money they have collected, foots the bill
