  1. It's in BRL actually. It's the projected number for Thursday opening day (in this case) since Wednesday previews are very limited until now, the same case that happened The Little Mermaid. But remember it's a comparison between Barbie at T-14 vs all the other movies at T-01, so it's going to greatly increase. One more thing to notice is that IM are much higher in Brazil than domestic. Movies like GOTG3 and ATSV both managed an above 10x IM, so that is important to remember. But since this is having one less full day of previews, it's a bit tricky to judge accordingly and it's Thursday will probably be inflated. The thing is: the numbers are so damn high that no matter how inflated it is for the lack of Wednesday previews, it will still be extremely good anyway.
  2. I am not sure on SW, it's a relatively weak IP in Brazil. But maybe from the exchange rates alone it could be the case, given that it was much better for Brazil when the new trilogy released.
  3. You are absolutely right. But IMO the thing is: the presales are so strong that even if the allocation is not enough, the spillover will be insane regardless. Most of my comments are about the final box office based on the pre-sales and not necessarily the opening weekend, this kind of level of interest is pretty insane to being capped in the long run by the number of screens. Also as @ThatWaluigiDude said the chains are taking notice, there are a couple of Wednesday showings being open now and there is still one theater that has yet to open it's pre-sales, but I bet it will very soon.
  4. Even with very strong numbers in Mexico, seeing the kind of numbers from tracking in Brazil, this might be the first blockbuster in a long time to open bigger in Brazil than in Mexico. What was even the last one? Top Gun Maverick?
  5. “Barbie” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-14 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 43 10433 1859 17.82% SEATS SOLD IN THE PAST 2 DAYS 580 COMPS T-14 x T-01: The Little Mermaid – 2.063x The Flash – 2.999x (5.32M) Into The Spiderverse – 2.882x (5.07M) Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3 – 1.855x (5.77M) Fast X – 1.905x (9.52M) Well... What about two full weeks more to go? lol How high can this thing go? I think it's in the kind of performance where there is simply no ceilling to it and the momentum could carry it to historic levels. I imagined it would definitely generate some hype at the opening weekend and perform really good for a Greta Gerwig movie, but at this point this is doing all time numbers just based on opening alone even if it collapses after that with bad reception (which is certainly possible).
  6. Are you guys ready for another INSANE update? lol
  7. “Barbie” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-16 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 43 10433 1279 12.26% SEATS SOLD IN THE FIRST 6 DAYS 1279 COMPS T-16 x T-01: The Little Mermaid – 1.420x The Flash – 2.056x (3.68M) Into The Spiderverse – 1.983x (3.49M) Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3 – 1.276x (3.97M) Fast X – 1.310x (6.55M) What can I say? This is probably some of the craziest numbers ever on BOT. Barbie already outsold every other movie of the year with 16 days to go still. Just as a piece of curiosity and some more data, Fast X walkups exploded and it begun it's showings with 1720 tickets sold, I am fairly confident that Barbie is going to blow past that with at least one full week more to go. This opening is top 5 all time level, It might be a bit early to call that, but I simply don't see how this misses the 6th spot all time barring a catastrophic reception.
  8. @ThatWaluigiDude Did Flash get the previews number released?
  9. This is not a joke: Barbie is somehow performing even better in Salvador than Natal, I am not even close to finish yet and it's already sold more tickets than Fast X sold at T-01 and that is a top 25 movie of all time. This might be the most unbeliavable pre-sales I have ever seen in the few years I have been lurking in this site.
  10. Ok, guys. Hear me out: I am only halfaway done and this is all I will say for now:
  11. Had been working like crazy. But I cameback to track Barbie, will try to give a look starting tonight.
  12. So within the range of 1.8-2.2M, nice for the tracking. On the other side, not nice as an opening for this. Will have to rely on WOM, but the ceilling is already low IMO.
  13. Unfortunately I could not do the usual T-0 update today which gives a much clearer picture of things, I just came home from work and it's almost 11pm here. I am giving a final prediction of 2M with 0.2+/- but could be way off.
  14. 90M for a big and heavily marketed Disney remake is not a hit, hit is the BATB and even more so TLK. Yeah, because that was an actual hit. 40M is a big difference in performance, it does not matter that it made closer to BATB here than most of the world, that makes it relatively better, but don't make it a hit.
  15. “The Flash” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-01 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 53 11701 622 5.32 % SEATS SOLD TODAY 204 COMPS T-01 Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse: 0.964x (1.69M) Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 03: 0.555x (1.93M) So... I am with @ThatWaluigiDude in the sense that it's a much better final day than I was expecting, it managed to increase decently on both comps. I will give my final prediction after I see tomorrow walk-ups before shows start, but I am still not seeing those Waluigi expectations of near 2.5M based on my numbers, but Salvador could be underindexing, so who knows?
  16. We just had 8 movies entering all time top 40 since the pandemic started, so this has nothing to do with it. The thing is: TLM is performing relatively well here comparing with other international markets and that is good, but you are insisting on this being a hit and it's simply not what numbers are showing at all.
  17. It's not a hit at all, just a relatively better performance than most overseas countries. This will do like 90M~ while Beauty and The Beast did 130M and The Lion King did 287M. Don't know how Alladin performed in BRL, but it's probably going to finish around it I suppose, which is an ok performance and certaintly not bad, but far from being a hit.
  18. “The Flash” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-02 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 44 9209 418 4.54 % SEATS SOLD LAST 2 DAYS 112 COMPS T-02 Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse: 0.841x (1.48M) Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 03: 0.555x (1.73M)
  19. “The Flash” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-04 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 44 9209 306 3.32 % SEATS SOLD TODAY 28 COMPS T-04 Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse: 0.897x (1.58M) Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 03: 0.566x (1.76M) Spider-verse final days were not strong, so it has a chance to increase on that comp, but it's probably decreasing against GOTG3 until T-0 when walkups come into play. At this point it's going to finish close to ATSV either way IMO.
  20. “The Flash” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-05 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 44 9209 278 3.02 % SEATS SOLD LAST 3 DAYS 52 COMPS T-05 Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse: 0.942x (1.66M) Showings normalized again and ATSV went down 😕
  21. Situation still not normalized for The Flash 😔
  22. Agreed on everything here. The choice of the director must be very accurate, they have to put the movie in the right hands. That is a good debate to think about. I think Joker just entered the zeitgest and that is very difficult to replicate, the movie would have to have some novelty attached to it or be TDK level good. I am very confident in The Batman Part 2 with the goodwill it has and Reeves being a great director, I think he set things up with the first and now has a clear path to do something even greater and take more liberties. The Brave and The Bold is another story, it's a complete wildcard to me. I still think DC should do a Spiderverse type of animation with Batman, have to take advantage of the hype and build even more goodwill to the IP with other projects.
  23. About The Flash, it has to be said: the CGI is a disgrace. There is no excuse in the world for the final result that is being showed around the world, Warner just shoots themselves in the foot almost every damn time.
