I mean Scream had Sidney encounter a new killer for like 5 movies in a row. I don’t think it needs to be 100% believable. These slasher series are a bit schlocky. -
It seems a bit more conventional compared to X and Pearl but that could also be because it’s somewhat more contemporary now that it’s set in the 80s.

Then couldn’t he have told an ecological story or some other non-political disaster type of movie? It seems odd to call a movie CIVIL WAR, and then dodge the politics of the situation.

Sorry, but I do think Garland is too apolitical in his framing. We’re just not at a moment in time when we can present a scenario like this without some actual political or societal commentary.

The problem with Ghostbusters is that it’s not a franchise. Calling it a franchise implies it has multiple entries people love, but all the nostalgia is really just for the original movie.
