  1. I think I was maybe less than 10 years old back then. At the time I was so shy when I watched that part LOL
  2. For me it's also around a 8/10 but being Chinese in North America definitely made EEAAO a lot more meaningful for me.
  3. I am not saying all women completely despise epic love stories, they just don't hit the same like they used to. What's the last romance film to hit big at the box office? Twilight? 50 Shades of Grey? But that's more of an erotic love story. With the current state of the world and poor economy, people are just more practical these days. Epic love stories aren't practical.
  4. Eh it's still very much "in" for people to bash Nolan, especially after Tenet. It definitely has died down a bit after Oppenheimer's success. The problem is, there hasn't been any director who can establish a dedicated fanbase after Nolan, so the hipster bashing is still mainly targeting at him. If Greta can pump out one or two more successful movies and develop a fanbase, she will definitely take over as the next target.
  5. That's the case with a lot of movies tbh. I am not sure if Titanic would've been loved this much if it was released today. People, especially women nowadays don't seem to resonate that much with epic love stories.
  6. I am still pretty pissed about Crash and Brokeback Mountain lol I guess Heath Ledger winning the Oscar eased my anger a bit with TDK.
  7. I mean even as a Nolan fangirl I agree that sometimes Nolan fans can become very annoying, but people bashing Nolan just so they can be hipster because they hate the popular trend is equally as annoying.
  8. Was Bratz ever even that popular? I feel it doesn't even reach half of Barbie's popularity. My Little Pony seems like a better IP (not sure who owns it).
  9. As someone who was a full time K-pop fan for five years in Korea, it's always funny to see your comments on a box office theory forum. My two worlds colliding (sort of).
  10. I feel like if IMAX puts Oppenheimer back on after the Blue Beetle and Gran Turismo obligations, it might just get there.
  11. My guess is not a lot of people have the energy to do double feature. It requires a lot of time. So those who gained interest through the Barbenheimer theme would watch Barbie first and then later watch Oppenheimer. Plus since Barbie has more shows in general than Oppenheimer, it's just easier to grab an ok spot for Barbie.
  12. How's Oppy doing internationally so far?
  13. OK I know every 70MM IMAX screen is different, but does anyone know if I would get my eyes blinded or Cillian's face twisted if I am sitting in these seats:
  14. Honestly I am not sure what Cruise wanted to accomplish when he threw that fit. IMAX would never pick Cruise over Nolan. Does he want Oppenheimer to move its date or something.
  15. https://collider.com/mission-impossible-dead-reckoning-imax-run-bruce-markoe-comments/ IMAX Tried to Help 'Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning,' But Paramount Wouldn't Budge
  16. Kind of true lol while 911 itself is a sad event, I am pretty sure I have seen plenty jokes about it in pop culture.
  17. I feel like the issue is just that...unless you are actually nostalgic about the series, no one really wants to see a 80 year old led action movie. Though I think 80 year old Tom Cruise might actually attract some people in the future.
  18. Shit that's very interesting. Would really like his take on how accurate the movie is but he probably won't comment on it LOL
  19. Awww no more 10 mil club for Oppy
  20. The movie doesn't seem to translate well for a lot of Chinese overseas because of the language barrier. A lot of them complained that it was hard to understand because there were no subtitles. I am not sure if the subbed/dubbed version in China would resolve this issue. While China did love Green Book, I feel like they might still expect Inception/Tenet kind of action movie from Nolan. Hope I am wrong, because on the other hand a lot of people were willing to travel to Hong Kong from the mainland to watch the movie.
