    As someone who actually liked Tenet, JDW's acting deters me to see The Creator in the theatres. I might watch it on streaming because I like Gemma Chan.

    Even though I am Chinese I don't really keep track of the Chinese BO. But it seems like the general consensus on social media is that the presales of holiday movies have been weak lately.

    He's really not that popular in China. People were already saying he looks ugly in it.

    We all know that they are just going to end up taking the wrong lessons from the success of Barbieheimer. Sad. That will probably greatly affect its numbers.

    Last week I thought 925M is its initial end game, this is not bad. Hoping for 940M now.

    Still find it interesting how Interstellar became the GOAT of Nolan movies in China and S. Korea. People around me were always more into the TDK and Inception. I mean I loved Interstellar but I just vividly remember the reception being mixed at the time, in North America at least.

    Hopefully the National Day long holiday will give it some kind of boost though it probably won't be able to keep a lot of screens by then, but hoping it will at least keep some screens in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

    So I just read on weibo that the original theatrical window in China is August 30 to September 29. But they have now extended it to October 29. I am not sure if it's common practice or anything but hopefully this will give it better legs in China.

    I mean I really want Oppy to hit a billion but I don't see how 950m is even a lock at this point? But I guess if they constantly put Oppy back in IMAX when things are slow it could crawl there.

    I like Agatha Christie books and I think most adaptations have been decent, albeit some better than others. I will probably always watch another movie adaptation of her work.

    Too bad Oppenheimer won't be able to have those 3 month long runs like local films. I still hope they will keep some of those premium screens for Oppy in China because there are high demand for them. But the Chinese roster of films is so full right now, no sure how long Oppy can have them.

    Getting so boring these days with Barbieheimer in its final weeks.

    Yeah I really didn't like that. It should be a good thing that no one has that much influence on film scores.

    I don't necessarily hate JDW but I just find that he doesn't have enough charisma to carry movies. I actually didn't even know he was a nepo baby until after Tenet. I told my friend I had no idea why Nolan chose JDW as the lead. It was the only time I didn't understand Nolan's casting choice for the main character. Then my friend told me his father's Denzel Washington lol Nolan probably did like him but I honestly doubt he would've gotten all these lead roles if it weren't for nepotism.

    Good thing is it will be able to stay longer in the theatres than TDKR because of the strike. Really really really want it to eventually get to 1 billion. Sing along version with RDJ dancing! Do it!
