  1. it seems from Tuesday it will have a T Mobile promotion, so it’s interesting to see it keeps growing against the comps even before T mobile discounts.
  2. nailed it, Charlie! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  3. “Warner Brothers retained distribution rights to its Legendary franchises, both Dune and Godzilla/Monsterverse.” this is factually wrong, Dune and Monster-Verse are not WB franchises, they are 100% Legendary’s property. However, WB has a word to say about the movies they had already financed. As you well mentioned, WB co-finances around 20-25% and as such they get the same share from net box office. So in 2022 when they signed with Sony they couldn’t have split Dune 2 and current GxK from WB because WB had already financed their production. Of course we are not 100% sure who will release the next sequels that aren’t in production yet. However, why Sony would accept to make a deal with Legendary that wouldn’t include the only two major Legendary franchises? Legendary left WB because they never accepted the straight to streaming releases of Dune 1 and 2021 GxK. Why would they let WB carry on distributing those franchise since both are the two main reasons that made them leave WB? By the way, the monster-verse series are already being produced outside WB, by Netflix and Apple TV+ since 2022.
  4. of course Sony would have interest in Legendary without their only two major franchises lol I have to remember, Legendary was the one that was searching for a new partner after WB has sent their movies to Max without an exclusive theatrical window during the pandemics. So what else Legendary has that could make Sony get into an agreement with them? Anyways, we will know in the near future I guess…
  5. really? So probably they give up to cancel it to avoid lose money
  6. cool, but those sold out screenings at Altamonte Mall are def not sold showings, so you’re right for not including them. I mean at Altamonte Mall all IMAX and Dolby Cinema Thursday shows are marked as “sold out”, but in these kind of situations the special needs seats stay available for a while even when the rest is sold out. So It’s probably something else.
  7. agreed. monster-verse is more of an international thing, at least it has been since 2019. And tbh I think it’ll carry on being like that. For example, looking at @vafrow report on Canada box office, it seems to be doing much better there than in the US (considering his comparison with GB).
  8. The Fall Guy debuts with 94% on RT! Universal already lifted the review embargo (two months away from the release date!) We can safely say WoM for The Fall Guy will be insane: Great critics reception + Ryan Gosling is the most beloved star in Hollywood right now. The Fall Guy keeps selling well in AMC NY theaters (considering we’re almost two months away from its release). https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_fall_guy_2024
  9. 12 million for Arthur the King? It’s a bit surprising (in a good way), but it makes sense given that there’s no major movie opening this week.
  10. exactly, we have to be really optimistic to expect summer walk ups to a March release. Talking about NY AMC theaters, nothing suggests GxB can get anywhere close to a 60M OW. GxK did well within first 3/4 hours of sales but didn’t keep up the pace. Too early to take any conclusion of course but I’d say it seems it will open with a BO similar to the OW of 2021 and 2019 monster-verse movies.
  11. lol how well did it sell yesterday in Florida? I think you didn’t give any update yesterday… Florida/Orlando trackings have been on point
  12. cool, Ghostbusters good pre sales are also being reported by @abracadabra1998 @jeffthehat @Inceptionzq @TheFlatLannister it also seems to be having better pre sales than Ghostbusters Afterlife.
  13. yes, most of trackers are reporting good pre sales for Ghostbusters. Yet some people don’t like it and then will ignore what trackers are reporting. I mean, this is pretty normal on internet and is not different here lol Welcome
  14. The Fall Guy pre sales started today. And I’m shocked how well it’s selling (considering we’re almost two freaking months away from its release). The right timing, after that historic performance at the Oscars. Universal showing why it’s taken Disney crown.
  15. panda review embargo was lifted 5 days ago. dune review embargo was lifted 1 month ago. so… Anyways, at the end Dune will get more reviews of course, because critics interest over it is much bigger than their interest for Panda. Compared to Panda, the buzz and hype surrounding Dune was much bigger as well. Panda will end up having ~200-250 reviews on, which is RT is the most common for successful films. Over 300 only for big hits. Dune has now 386 which is huge, very few movies get so much interest from critics, even the very successful ones like Wonka (which has 319 on RT). Massive/historic hits, groundbreaking movies like Barbie and Oppenheimer go as far as 500 reviews on RT. This is kinda the RT celling I’d say.
  16. Agreed Movies like Across the Spider Verse and Avatar had their embargo lifted th day before their first screenings/previews.
  17. I don’t think you understand much about RT score range. 70% range is considered good movie with “positive reviews”, high 60 is average movie/reviews and high 50s to low 60 is mixed reviews.
  18. these numbers matches perfectly the trackings reported by @Inceptionzq, @jeffthehat
  19. it looks really good. Thursday previews matches @TheFlatLannister and @abracadabra1998 trackings as well. Here in NY there are some big PLFs almost sold out for evening previews.
