  1. Garfield early previews def affected IF performance.
  2. do you think Korean theaters will keep IF screenings next week? At this rate, they might just get rid of IF for new releases.
  3. Any news for today’s box office in Korea?
  4. I assumed this was like box office by Sunday, so including the weekdays box office. But I’m not sure.
  5. this is as Saturday full day numbers? Garfield is been very well rated, and being an animation makes sense it’s doing much better at the weekends, isn’t it?
  6. Recovery day for Garfield and Haikyuu? Weekend usually are good for animated movies.
  7. InsideKino projections for the weekend: Garfield to lead the German box office for the second week in a row by increasing +50% from previous week. IF to debut in third place with 100k admissions. No. Visitor Weekend % Visitor until Sunday Possible Final result Week Film (studio) RT IMDB 1 226,000 +50 446,000 1,000,000 2 Garfield (COL) 67 6,1 2 132,000 = 316,000 600,000 2 Planet of the Apes (BV) 80 7,3 3 110,000 --- 122,500 500,000 1 IF (PAR) - 6,9 4 77,000 = 385,000 600,000 3 The Fall Guy (U) 82 7,3 5 44,000 -15 2,486,000 2,600,000 8 Chantal in Fairyland (NCO) - 4,7 6 35,000 --- 35,000 100,000 1 Tarot (COL) 20 5.0
  8. Do you have numbers for weekdays box office (Mon-Wed)? I guess if are going to get IMAX and other PLF that was with Apes, right?
  9. Wow apes had a 2k jump from your last update, better than even Haikyuu
  10. 100k admissions usually means how much money on average?
  11. Thursday and Saturday are normal working days in SK? Or is it like extended holidays from Wednesday to Sunday?
  12. I thought Haikyuu was expected to win the day… It may be affected by Garfield, both animation and Garfield is outpacing Haikyuu, I don’t know if this was expected… the other day it’s like 104k v 27k, and now the difference is less than 2x.
  13. oh interesting that Garfield pace is better than Haikyuu (probably more front loaded due to a huge fanbase it has in Korea I guess). based on this, do you have any guess on how much money they will make over the extended weekend?
  14. any news on Garfield pre-sales? If I’m not mistaken it’ll will open in a Korean Holliday this week.
  15. Disney is estimating Planet of Apes to make 2.2 million opening in Germany. I mean, this looks quite impossible given that current estimates from today sees it accumulating only 160k tickets sold by Sunday. https://deadline.com/2024/05/kingdom-of-the-planet-of-the-apes-fall-guy-if-global-international-box-office-1235912415/
  16. so Garfield may actually cross the 300k mark, while Apes may not even hit 250k, right?
  17. Any projection for how much it’ll do?
  18. @Carlangonz it seems that there was some earlier shows for Garfield in Mexico before April 30. The Cámara Nacional de la Industria Cinematográfica reported today the same figure as you (140.8 million) however in the cume it’s 149.1 million, so certainly there was earlier screenings. Probably the same thing as in the UK: there will be earlier shows on 18th and 19th, plus on Sunday (12) there’ll be more previews before the official release on May 23. The Fall Guy is up a little bit more, probably due some additional earlier previews as well, its cume is at 45.5 million.
  19. any updated on Garfield sales in Mexico sor far? It’s doing really well in Brazil, Italy and Spain. @Carlangonz
  20. @M37 has been doing a great work for years now. The fact that you disagree with someone doesn’t mean you don’t respect his work.
  21. Deadline projection for GxK:NE opening weekend is at 50M domestically. By your reaction you fully disagree, but Deadline looks reasonable when we compare GxK:NE with Dune pre sales. When we compare both, GxK is 40%-45% behind Dune pre sales (MTC1), as you can see in the breakdown I did. So it seems to me that 50M-55M is the most likely range for GxK:NE OW.
  22. “but 9.25M to 10M would have been too much of a stretch”… I can help you if you can’t understand what this means… guess what, I was saying I don’t believe in the 9.25M theory. 😉
  23. it’s the same for the US. It’s just adapted to local time. For those who are in the US review embargo will be lifted just on Thursday early morning.
