I just read the script, we are in for a treat. I bet it will move release dates because of Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark however.

Movies since 2010 that I can remember that absolutely surprised me that they didn’t do better at the time:
Shrek 4
Toy Story 3 ( I was expecting more)
Rio
Scream 4
Kung Fu Panda 2
Super 8
Transformers 3
Puss in Boots
Sherlock Holmes 2
Battleship
Amazing Spider Man
Hobbit (all three)
Star Trek Into Darkness
Pac Rim
Walking With Dinosaurs
Paranormal Marked Ones
Amazing Spider Man 2
Edge of Tomorrow
Dawn of Apes (I thought would do better)
Interstellar
Penguins of Madagascar
Jupiter Ascending
Unfriended
Pixels
Peanuts movie
Good Dinsaur
Ninja Turtles 2
ID2
Legend of Tarzan
Ice Age 5
Great Wall
Life
Pirates 5
Transformers 5
Blade Runner
Geostorm
Justice League
Hurricane Heist
Christopher Robin
First Man

We are right now in a nostalgic period of glorifying the past, which is why audiences are not receptive to sci fi movies lately, I have noticed this since 2016. Space in particular is “different”, not something you can look back toward.

He worked on Avatar before he died and got to see a personal showing by Jim even though many of the CGI shots were still unfinished.
Really? That is super sweet!!

I wish they had reimagined the stork scene where he delivers babies to the animal parents. That was one of my favorite scenes. I don’t even need the stork to talk. I feel that going in a too realistic direction about a flying elephant isn’t the best road to take.

This one is gonna be an all-timer next to Ben Lyons' "one of the best movies ever made" I Am Legend review.
Considering this was basically a red carpet premiere - amped-up crowd, filmmakers in attendance - I've seen a few mixed reactions on social media.
I mean, I Am Legend was an excellent movie and a huge hit, so that would be great for Pet Sematary.

There are like 5-6 at the moment. Most of the praise seems to be going towards the directing. The script, on the other hand, isn't getting good reception.
Btw, the writers of this movie also wrote Five Feet Apart which is releasing this weekend.
Oh yeah, I meant on Rotten Tomatoes. Maybe a lot of critics were not interested in attending or already are out of SXSW?

I am so happy right now!!

Only two reviews so far, maybe others will release Monday? I mean they have a few weeks, but still.

I hope Rian Johnson has made it a clever and sophisticated whodunit and not a goofy comedy like Clue or Murder by Death. Not saying those are bad movies but we have seen too much of them already.
Yes! I love Clue, but I’m hoping for a serious mystery film!

The trailers were not that great to be honest, so I’m not too surprised.
-
I think this is premiering tonight.
-
So 405 mil would be a reasonable target at this point?

He's admitted to not liking his last three movies. Can't help but wonder if he's lost his enthusiasm.
Woah he didn’t like Oz? I haven’t seen it, but wow.

How did Nightmare on Elm Street fans react to the ending, so you remember @baumer ? I’m sure Friday fans had a blast. Hopefully no ones feelings were hurt.

I was thinking the same thing. I actually wish he was running the major film studios at this point.

Does anybody know Burton’s thoughts on his Planet of the Apes and Alice in Wonderland movies? Was he disappointed in them?
-
I remember that our movie insider Kowhite once stated the set designs for this movie were awful.
-
Something is up with this movie.

I am reading good reactions from SXSW.
-
When should the premiere end/frost reactions come in?
-
My only complaint so far is that I am not sensing the “feeling” of the orignals weirdness. And I should be, since Tim Burton is directing. I wish Disney was not taking this into a much more realistic movie, just like they did with Jungle Book.

Okay, I’ll stop and do want to apologize for my Captain Marvel joke numbers.
I am very disappointed in you.
You didn’t post the entire Sonic For Hire Series!
Also I am pissed that I can’t see Captain Marvel until next week.

YourMother, I love Sonic For Hire, but c’mon!!!
