  1. So Sony & Fox are not the only ones who could open a disaster movie...
  2. The problem is Warner's own movies opening up. Warner has to concede screens to newer movies this is where Max would lose some potential audience who is hearing the loud WoM about how good this movie is. Entourage, Max, Magic Mike will take out its future audience.
  3. MMFR looks like the type of bizarro genre movie that discriminating audience loves but does only OK among GA. By the time the 2nd & 3rd trailers were out, I am already excited at the prospect of this movie. George Miller is a skilled filmmaker, and I am glad he is making more Mad Max movies. However its small drops leading to a $150M is a nice surprise, but not as awesome as PP2's
  4. Mad Max doing strong business is not a surprise. PP2 however is another matter
  5. Not bad for a movie that I would predict to do $120M after the release of 1st comic con trailer
  6. Why has Disney consistently failed to do a decent live-action tent pole? Are they so deeply entrenched in animation that they are incapable of creating live action movies? They lucked out with those Pirates movies
  7. Depends on the material. He is perfect as Johnny Utah. That name is inseparable from him. Neo & The Matrix Trilogy are iconic enough but to me Utah is Keanu, Keanu is Utah. This remake may have some amazing extreme-sport footage but Point Break is one of those movies that defy the rules of remake or reboot. Reboot to your doom Remake & get ...dead
  8. San Andreas' $50M OW & The Rock are getting all kinds of tribute : 'Next time, I will put you in the right disaster movie..."
  9. SA numbers is a nice surprise. The Rock can open a movie, why is he still on HBO doing Entourage-knock off Ballers?
  10. MMFR will end up north of $150M, yes? It will be nice if it can leg it out to $160M ala Gone Girl... More action movies like this Hollywood, the audience has spoken!!!
  11. With the right materials (Ocean's 11, Gravity) he could enhance the watchability of the movie.
  12. Until the release of ROADBLOCK spin-off
  13. Sony is terrible with line-ups, tent poles and portfolio, probably still drunk with all that Spider-Man cash. I mean they practically put zero effort and won a $1.4B lottery with the last 2 Spider-Man movies. But they should bounce back with Pixels and in the Fall with Spectre & Transylvania 2. Adam Sandler & Seth Rogen are their saviors.
  14. Pacific Rim did $3.6M from 7PM show and made $37M/FSS back in July San Andreas may have better legs: $115M - $120M
  15. AoU should...be able to do $500M - $510M
  16. At this rate, next weekend MMFR will make more money than PP2..?
  17. AoU will end up with less than $460M? Noooooooooo....
