"I can't help with 4k, but here is a copy of the trailer in ProRes format. It's almost 3gb and should be visually flawless. The difference between this and YouTube almost feels like seeing it in 4k, due to the lack of compression."

  2. Movie was great, cant understand the negativ critics. Movie follows the common superhero/action movie patterns. Sure it borrows from many other superhero/action movies, but who cares. I´m a big marvel fan boy, but this movie was much better than dr.strange 2, black widow, Thor 4. But yet it has a much lower rating on RT.

Lets be honest, if this was marvel movie it would had a nearly  twice higher rating (60-75%) among professional critics.

Variety article on the box office performance of the re-issue.

Variety - Avatar re-release wows with $30.5 million

Despite 13 years passing since “Avatar” first hit theaters, moviegoers are apparently still dazzled by the striking world of Pandora.

In anticipation of the sequel “The Way of Water,” which opens in December, Disney re-released James Cameron’s original, dazzling science-fiction epic to promising results. The film generated $10 million in North America and $20.5 million internationally over the weekend, a huge turnout for movie that opened more than a decade ago, even if that movie happens to be the highest-grossing global release in history. With this weekend’s returns, “Avatar” widens its lead as the biggest movie of all time with $2.85 billion worldwide.

In North America, “Avatar” placed third on box office charts behind newer releases like Olivia Wilde’s “Don’t Worry Darling” ($19.2 million) and the Viola Davis-led “The Woman King” ($11 million). In terms of recent re-releases, ticket sales for “Avatar,” which played in 1,980 mostly Imax locations, came in 85% ahead of the re-release for “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” The latest Spidey adventure, which returned to theaters months, not years, after its original run, collected $5.4 million from 3,835 theaters over Labor Day weekend.

Overseas, where the first “Avatar” made over 70% of its money, the remastered version took the No. 1 spot in smaller markets like France ($2.9 million), Italy ($1.5 million), Singapore and Thailand. Other top territories were Germany ($1.3 million), the United Kingdom ($1.3 million) and Korea ($1.3 million).

“Had the re-release underperformed,” Dergarabedian said, “that would be the first indicator that — uh oh — there may be a problem [for the sequel.] But this is very encouraging.”

Avatar? Whats that? No one cares about this movie anymore. Everyone has forgotten about that movie, its already 13 years ago when it was released. *sarcasmoff*

  4. Just came from the cinema watching avatar again on the big screen. Holy shit, after 12 years this still looks phenomenal and in all these years not one single movie was released which comes close regarding visuals. And then i saw the avatar 2 footage in 3D on the big screen 😮😮 WTF??? The visuals were stunning and 3D was out of  this world, even avatar looked like a video game compared to avatar 2. Unbelieveable, cant imagine that (besides from  the avatar movies) any movie will come close regarding 3D and visuals in the next few years.

But for me the best and most signifiant part was the introduction of charles xavier with the intro music of the 90ies x-men series, i´m a die hard x-men fan since over 30 years. Man i was a child again, this is now one of my most favorite scenes in the entire mcu 😁 I guess it was now confirmed that marvel/feige will make the 90ies series canon.

Which version did you watch? I missed that part where John Smith skinned a Native and walked around in his body for the majority of the film and then had his brain implanted into that Native's body at the end.

People dont get it. Its s typical hero's journey story, which was told since human civilisations exists, for example the gilgamesh epos, which is thousands of years old, is a heros journey story. Most of the big blockbusters follow the pattern of the hero's journey, lotr, sw, hp and so on. The pocahontas, ferngully argument is just a lame excuse.

If that means Exchange Rates, that's absolutely false.

Anyway, it's funny how cameronites now spin any thing they can bring on the table to diminish the probable surpassing of EG to A, when some weeks ago them all were happily being sarcastic and mocking MCU fans about EG not reaching A ww ... it's a matter of time, sooner than later EG will be #1 ww.

You know whats more funny. After the insane ow when every cameron hater was mocking avatar/cameron fans. And after they realized that eg wont beat avatar they all disappeard ( except cdsacken, he was holding the ground). Then after feige and disney announced a re-release suddenly all the mcu hype fans appeard again wirh a big mouth. You see the difference? Avatar fans holding their ground no matter what. Those are real fans and not those wannabe hypetrain fans.

Avatar will always remain the highest grossing film until Avatar 2 releases.

Avatar didn't have to cheat or fudge numbers to reach this level.

Avatar extended cut was legit and not a hack.

Some rabid fans are jealous of Cameron. I also love MCU but that doesn't mean I can't think and see what's going on.

Exactly. I'm a big marvel fan, but after this they can f**** off. If they had the no.1 without cheating it would be a great achievment but so its just lame. Nothing to be proud of. 11 years, 21 films, OW beyond words and in the end they had to fudge numbers to beat avatar.
