I haven't seen a Sandler film in theaters since Big Daddy.
Have less than zero interest in anything he's done in the last 10 years ... too bad as I really enjoyed his earlier films.
I take that back ... I did check out Funny People due to the Apatow thing ... and Click for Kate Beckinsale. (of course, just on hbo when I was bored)
Oh Super 8 ... I was so disappointed with that # it got, at the time was hoping for higher ... I really enjoyed that movie, despite the kind of awkward ending.
Well, I certainly wouldn't consider under 40 million good regardless for a film that cost 200 million dollars ... no matter that tracking was even lower than that.
Yeah ... based on talk here, I was expecting well over 18 ... hmm, always lowering #s ...
BTW Ed, speaking to your sig ... I enjoyed the minions ... but no way in hell could I handle a minions spin off movie. Would be unbearable for 90 minutes.
Eventually movie companies are going to restrict Friday #s due to Nikki putting up these false multipliers... and then people see the real #s and labeling the movie as a disappointment.
Even WITH the 3.6+14+, you'd barely get much over 40-42 ... not up to 44. I have no clue what she's smoking ... or what the person giving #s to her is smoking.
I never got to that part ... did Steve Sanders really just pull a Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black maneuver
... of course, I expect Steve didn't survive.
I'm definitely not thinking anything over 35 million is guaranteed until Nikki gives us an actual # ... not just projections which she is fucking horrible at.
If the film does 20 million today, I'll see 50 as a potential total for the weekend.
