Let's see how I did 1. Civil War - 1.4B 2. Finding Dory - 1.25B 3. Fantastic beasts - 1.17B I had all of these 3 way to high, I overestimated those franchise's power 4. BvS - 770M Yeah, everyone told me I was going way to low, and they were right, but I was closer than most, with many predictions going over a billion 5. Deadpool - 750M This one was pretty spot on 6. Star Wars: Rogue One - 740M I tought that it being a spin-off wouldn't get really close to the franchise numbers, I was wrong I guess... 7. Moana - 702M This one was way lower 8. Alice in Wonderland 2 - 701M We all knew it would flop, but we had no idea how much 9. Ice Age 5 - 700M The power of this franchise is over 10. Suicide squad - 680M This prediction was not that bad 11. Passengers - 675M I tought this would be Oscar material tbh 12. Kung Fu Panda 3 - 665M 13. Zootopia - 660M Everyone was betting on Monana to be Disney's huge hit, but we didn't count on Zootopia 14. Doctor Strange - 620M I did good with this one 15. X-Men Apocalypse - 610M 16. The Jungle Book - 550M 17. The Secret Life of Pets - 540M 18. Independence day 2 - 500M 19. Inferno - 485M 20. Star Trek - 470M

It will not make more than a billion... at most I was mistaken for about 200 million... which is more close to the actual gross than most overpredictions.

I always tought it would be a huge flop, just changed a little bit my mind about how much it would be... but so far it's having really bad legs so I could just miss for a few dollars.

My predictions are great so far! BvS will flop hard as predicted, and Deadpool is a huge hit. Also Kung fu panda 3 is very accurate. Zootopia already grossed more than I predicted, but I was one of the few that actually got close to it's final gross.

For me, my early bets are: Silence Dunkirk Manchester by the Sea The other ones I'm not yet so sure...

I would say it was actually the oppossite for Iron Man 2, which had pretty good reviews that helped the performance of The Avengers. I'm not saying the film will be awful, I'm actually pretty excited about it, I just don't think it will be a hit at the box office. But yeah, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree and wait.

The only reference we have is MoS, as it comes from the same franchise. Civil War can be more considered as a sequel of The Avengers than BvS as a sequel of TDKR, because Civil War is part of the MCU, and MoS is not part of TDKR universe. Considering TDKR as a reference for BvS is just like using Hotel Transylvania to predict Victor Frankenstein's BO just because both include Frankenstein as a character. The difference with Civil War is that previous film (Winter Soldier) had a great acceptance among both audiences and crtics so it will help Civil War's BO, unlike MoS, which acceptance will probably have a negative effect on BvS.

This is a sequel to Man of Steel, not to TDKR.

If we've learned something from last couple year's box office is that brand recognition alone won't do wonders anymore, specially Batman, that has been a little overexposed during the last decade, and Bale's Batman is very recent, so it will be hard for audiences to accept someone else (I think it could go through something similar to what happenned with Garfield's spiderman).

I feel like everyone is overpredicting BvS just like it happenned with Man of Steel a few years ago (many expected it top become one of the highest of all time). But my reasons to predict it this low are the fact that many people didn't like the first movie, and many others don't agree with Affleck as Batman.
