No matter how much people you talk to, the total sample won't be enough to extrapole to the general population, so numbers are a better way to estimate a film success in most cases.

I believe people is getting franchise fatigue and really none of the films offer something new and interesting enough for the audience.

"No hard feelings" could be considered a romcom, right? Haven't seen it, but it seems like it could be

The problem with BvS, Justice League is that they where generally disliked, but the hype was there. And with TSS & Flash is that with those films, the DCEU was coming from a bad streak therefore loosing people's interest. If they manage to somehow get at least a 3- streak of well received films, I bet they could get any universe project working, but they have never managed to do that.

That film was released just when covid was starting and (unlike TSS) didn't resonate well with audiences, had it been rewrited as a Joker & Harley film as originally intended and released outside the pandemic, it certainly would've been a hit, cos' the interest was there.

SS16 had one of the best marketings of the 2010s, so no surprise it did that much because got people interested, but audiences didn't like the result, that's why I think SS21 got hurt by having the same title, it would've worked better if it was marketed as a Harley Quinn film.

If you don't trust IMDB, then we can use RT where it holds a 90% critic approval and 82% with audiences. Free Guy, Jungle Cruise & TSS all targeted young adult audiences who went for a combination of action and comedy, just with the latter being less family oriented. Agree Black Adam hurt the DCEU by it's lack of cohesiveness, that's why I think the Flash using that date would've been better. Nahhh... many die hard fans turned it's back on the DCEU after they fired Znyder.

TSS is the best rated DCEU film on IMDB with a bold 7.2 just after WW and JL Snyder's Version, so audiences did like it; it also did great on HBO Max. It bombed on the boxoffice because people still had the first Suicide Squad on mind and the latest DCEU disasters (WW84 & BoP), besides it got a terrible release date just between Free guy and Jungle cruise, both targeting similar audiences. Of course the Covid dying down helped Black Adam a lot, but that help would've been better for the Flash in the long term, which even if it didn't get amazing reception at least got better word of mouth than BA. What you talking about? JL Snyder's Version was actually widely popular and one of the most streaming films during the pandemic. And, at least die-hard fans would've watched The Flash a year ago, before the annoucement of all the studio changes they did a few months ago.

The Suicide Squad was a flop because it came right after BoP and WW1986, which people were actually anticipating and turned out to be generally disliked. But TSS actually had good reception among the audience, and people were ready to give the DCEU another chance after it, that's why Black Adam had the biggest openning for a DCEU film since Aquaman and could've been a hit if it wasn't for it's disastrous reception among audiences. Also, if it had been released earlier last year, Ezra's Flash would still be fresh in people's minds because of JL Snyder's Version and the multiverse thing would be in it's peak of popularity after No way home, unlike now that people are starting to get tired of the trend.

The Flash could've been a hit if it was released early in 2022 right after Suicide Squad... Black Addam & Shazam 2 killed all that was left of the DCEU momentum and public trust.

If this had been released in early 2022, it would've done so much better... Black Adam & Shazam 2 really killed people interest in the DCEU. Even if James Gunn Suicide Squad was a BO flop, it was greatly received by the audience and people were ready to give the DCEU a second (actually third or fourth) chance, but they wasted all the momentum with horrible subsequent films.

They're probably having Haunted mansion for Christmas and Elemental for October probably

The Father was really a beautiful film, and I love Hugh Jackman, so this is already one of my most anticipated films for next year and I hope it gets to be an Oscar contender 😁

So, most of the important potential contenders for this year that I've seen so far have made this season feel really dissapointing, not that those are bad films, but I feel like I've seen nothing new, the same messages about racism and injustice that we've seen in tons of films before, and many films dealing with the same subjects and using similar formulas. I feel like this year's award season has focused so much on delivering strong and relevant messages for today's society through character studies that they forgot to actually deliver some story or bringing something different to the table, that they end up being completely predictable films. I know this has been a weak year due to COVID and many films had to be postponed, but imo there were some great films with great reviews that somehow got completely overlook this year, like The Gentlemen, Clouds or Uncle Frank, those would've probably added some variety into this season. Anyways, here's my rank of the potential contenders I've seen so far: 1. Soul 2. Sound of metal (The only films that actually care to tell a story and to add something different to the table, and sadly, the least likely to get nominated) 3. The trial of Chicago 7 (Interesting film, nice acting, but yet, completely predictable and not very different from other trial films, basically just relevant because of the huge cast and the associationg with 2020's riots) 4. One Night in Miami 5. Ma. Rainey's Black Bottom 6. Mank

So Lewis gets a deal with a criminal drug group leaded by Joe (Dev Patel). As Thomas keeps on winning with the support of his sister Ellie and his trainer Taylor (Halle Berry) he gets closer to the Olympic games, while his father gets more involved with the criminal group, putting Katy and Tom's lifes at risk.

I think the girl from Jojo Rabbit could be great as Lucy Gray. For Snow I have no idea who they could cast, but I guess a new actor could be the best option.

Halle Berry + Patrick Wilson + Stanley Tucci?? Count me in for this!! When is it expected? 2022?
