  1. Great for MU and WWZ and it's just amazing how bad Nikki is as MOS goes from $17-19m est to $12.7m :( just terrible unfortunately. But when looking at competition, MU stole the family business it got last Sat and Sun, and WWZ stole the younger and action fans it had. Double whammy of strong comp...still think it makes the push and hits $300m.

  2. I don't get why people are using the $125m number when doing its multi? Why are we assuming all $12m of that would otherwise be in the OW w/o the Wal-mart preview? Even if we are using the $125m though, 3x multi puts it at $375m, which has to be best case scenario so not sure where 400 talk is coming from. You guys realize how hard a 3x multi for a SH movie is right? TDKR only managed a 2.8, and I doubt this has as good of WOM as that. I think 2.6x multi from the $125m number, about 2.7x from the actual OW for a $325m finish would be a very great outcome. That would be indicative of how a superhero movie with good but not phenomenal WOM holds.

I don't think people are using $125m...we're doing 3x off of $113m and then adding the $12m to get a $350m total.
  3. But that is not WB's fault. There are 100's of empty seats at sporting events and the game is still called a sellout. This is because corporations buy the tickets, give them to their clients or use them as a tax write off. Not everyone shows up to the game but those sales count. It's the same scenario here.

This is a very good example...I've been to Mets/Yankees games that have been announced as sellouts but there could literally be 10,000 empty seats...it doesn't matter though, those tickets were sold/bought and the money is there. It's the same thing here...in this business we count the $, not the tickets sold, and it's what (most) you guys/gals always want to do it as (the whole tickets sold vs dollars argument, etc, etc).
