FlopityThe flopping jokes are getting lamer by the minute.

You're the same type person/group I get in their face and tell them to shut the fuck up. I paid $12,15,18 to see a film not listen to your MST3K bullshit. I've never lost that battle, know why cause it only takes one to get the whole theater on your side essentially thanking you for doing what they were scared to do. Public courtesy and decency are lost on too many today.
Get some manners.

I meant I usually like big loud silly films at the theater and more serious films to watch at home.
At the theater I never go alone and with friends and we are always cracking jokes lol for example we are like "Sandra .. Forever Alone"
Happened with X-men First Class it was more of a more serious story based film. Watched it in Theater was sort of a wash..
Watched it at home by myself, was blown away.
ah, I see...so you're the ones I want to murder in the theater

I am not saying its a bad film at all its a good film but I think me and my friends and a lot of the audience at my screening were left scratching their head over the film.
I think I would more enjoyed this film on a cozy Sunday night on the home theater system then going out to a movie theater.
I don't think we saw the same movie...this on IMAX in 3D was incredible and so immersive and I think it will lose so much when watching at home. Even on br on a large 55-60" 1080p tv it will just not be the same. Even if you have a 3D tv at home, I just can't see it being as visually amazing as it was. This is the movie 3D was made for, and the larger the screen the better.

Means 40m 2rd wkn may not happen.
Yes, because you've been so spot on predicting this movie so far.

GRAVITY payload update: 3D accounted for $44.2M (80%), IMAX $11.2M (20%) Males 54%, 35+ 59%, CinemaScore A-
Best 3D I've ever seen so it's good to see great 3D rewarded.

It's only getting like 50 screens or something.I think we could see a 40M+ 2nd weekend only because of the IMAX and 3D.Although someone mentioned Captain Phillips is getting an IMAX release...?Da Fuq!?

Awesome Sat bump and ow! Well deserved and even with football it should have a really good hold today. Nice on the Oct record too!

Damn, really wanted that $20m od but $17.5m is still a great start! I think it should/will increase today and I plan on seeing it again today or tomorrow..it really is an amazing piece of film making and I was in awe watching it in imax 3D.

Dear (movie) god no! FGF is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I read that as 239 thousand miles and thought the nearest imax to you was on the moon.Seeing it in Imax. Oh wait...There's no real Imax screen in my town, I got to go to Disneyland Paris...239,22 miles away from home.

Another 2 fresh added on RT. 95% and averaging rating 8.8.
Shit! I didn't know reviews were out but 95% after 40 reviews and an 8.8 average is awesome! Only another week or so and can't freaking wait! I plan on seeing it in imax 3d at least twice.

so B is the lowest grade currently in this thread? not even a naughty B-?
well, let me rectify that.
kind of enjoyable for a while, and then slides down the spiral of ineptitude and idiocy. i'm not really sure what there is to complain about 'movies these days' if this is the sort of mindless action that you're citing as quality found only in the land of cotton candy and childhood dreams. it isn't the worst of its kind.

Disappointing/underwhelming for Elysium...oh well, definitely going to catch it this weekend and still psyched.

Uh, yeah of course its ow will be much bigger, perhaps double av1, but it's still more of a wild card domestically.I don't think Avatar 2 will make 75M OW unless snow storms are paralysing the east coast all over again...

I was pretty moist when I saw Avatar for the first time so you're right about that. And at least BKB (by avoiding ww everytime he posts) understands AV2 will stomp TA2 WW, it's only the domestic battle that's fun to debate and talk about. And dom I'd say it's pretty much an even battle at this point which does better. Year and a half of inflation and more 3D theaters, etc. prob gives AV2 a slight advantage. But I will say that TA2 is more of a sure thing dom (with its already locked $200m+ow and high 2s multi to hit $600m again) than AV2 is though.Avatar 2 is doomed. It will loose money.Moist people went to see Avatar for the 3d and the shiny colors. THe movie had no other qualities whatsoever.150m dom450m wwDOA

Go see itJames Wan is a talented guy but another haunted house thriller...? And how is this special?
-
BO wise, hopefully...quality wise I think it and Gravity could make sci-fi be pretty memorable this year movie wise. And I'm betting on Interstellar being both a really good movie and box office hit next year for. (fingers crossed)Elysium can save us all.

Reviews are actually way better than expected...68% rt where the horrible origins is like 35% or something (which is way too high for that abomination). If this makes 60M OW, I would have to think that this would make probably in the 130'sM DOM. 140 would be the top for me, given the reviews. I'm leaning towards 130M.

Nice, let's go $40m for Gravity and a good ow for CP as well! It's nice when quality movies get rewarded.
