They are...but what studio wouldn't want their movie in the top 5 list with a juicy buy now button right there.Really. So they aren't actually selling tickets?
-
I've heard rumors you can buy your way onto this list kind of like ad space...not saying DM2 isn't the 5th best selling movie, or that the others aren't 1-4, just saying.<p>
Despicable Me is already in the Fandango 5. Jesus Christ! Animation taking over.
The Fandango 5
This week's hottest tickets

It will hit $300m no matter what, even if WB have to SR it...it's got July 4th weekend and PR "double feature" boost. Will say if Man of Steel manages $20M this weekend, then they will drag it to $300M.If not, NOPE. And I don't think it will accomplish that personally.

It's thunderdome!!It's funny to talk about rules here when mods themselves don't follow them. Sigh.
-
The only thing you were telling us all along is that you're not good at prediciting but good at trolling...yes we still know that as it did $50m more ow than you said and will finish $100m more dom than you said too.Man on Sink! No way of spinning this now. The inevitable has happened just like I was telling everyone all along.

No you're just dumb...IM3 had similar, if not worse legs, should that have gotten a www? Of course not, cause no one is a petty fanbaby like you. After this up coming weekend, people will 2nd guess locking that thread when the movie falls even further....

Wall-E, Rat, Incredibles, Monsters Inc, Nemo and TS1-3 more than make up for Cars and Up (though I think Up is really good). And MU is really good too, one of the funniest Pixar movies, if just not as great as MI.
-
lol it's good hopefully you like it...and one day the Pixar magic will break the hate in your heart, like the Grinch and Christmas, etc.Im actually sitting in the theater waiting to watch Monsters University. Im so ashamed.

Bolded is why studios will never stop releasing movies in 3D...post converting a movie to 3D cost very little and the return on investment always pays off. I really dislike post converted 3D, but filmed in 3D (like Avatar and Hugo) I think is great actually. So let's keep filmed in 3D but kill in fire post converted 3D.In the States, they are starting to figure out that the silent majority doesn't like it. We are speaking with our wallets judging by the low 3D percentages of pretty much every movie in the last couple years. The only reason a movie like IM3 or TA opened with a 3D share around 50% is because people wanted to see the movie no matter what. 2D shows would sell out first and then people would be forced to see it in 3D if they wanted to see it ASAP. But for movies where the demand isn't so high to see the film itself, the 3D percentage is a joke. If you take out IMAX (which charges a premium for 2D and most people just want to see a movie on a bigger screen), the 3D share on films like Star Trek 2 and Man of Steel was pathetic.

Unfortunately far from it...3D is huge os and studios will not be giving up that extra revenue any time soon...3D in theaters is here to stay disappointingly.3D is DEAD!

It's basically this...I posted before Friday that MU will take most the family and some female it had ow Sat and Sun/fathers day, and WWZ will take the young action fans and rest of female demo...it was a doubly whammy of trouble and with such a big ow it was bound to drop big (though I thought more like 60-62%, not 65% unfortunately). It opened against an 82 million opener and a 66 million opener both of which cut into it's audience. Most films would have trouble maintaining a good drop

Majority dislike?? It's basically 50/50 with critics so not sure what you mean. And MOS is the same way, it's basically 50/50 with critics (close to 60/40) so almost the same.NYSM's RT score really surprises me. How did it score that low? I mean for a majority of the critics to just flat out dislike this movie is weird - I was one of the early champions of this movie via my FB and my early reactions posted to a lot of forums including this one and I am pretty happy with the way it is performing. But, IMO, this is not deserving of such a low RT rating.
-
Yeah I guess you're right I don't know where I was going with that lol. I think I'm just any easy grader and for me to say something is "shit" it has to have almost no redeeming values and be just awful, like a low budget made for TV movie on syfy or something haha. But buddy...I could tear IM3 apart. Its shit imo in a lot of ways. You might feel otherwise but thats just one opinion.

I think it's more what ones definition of shit is...not that if someone thinks it's good or bad. Like when you ask a friend hey how was that steak, and they're like it's the best steak in the world (or worst ever), etc...is that really it, or just your emotional reaction, etc. A shit movie to me is a very extreme case of awful, not just something that I didn't like or was bad or not that good, etc.So wrong. People can say it was shit and if that is how they feel that is how they feel.

Yeah IM3 is not shit at all...just hyperbole thrown around in Internet forums.Anyone calling IM3 shit has never actually seen a shit movie in his life

Sure did...story and writing/dialogue were a little spotty in some parts but the amazing action more than made up for it and love the character Superman so great to see him back on the big screen. Technology has finally reached the point where a great action packed Superman was possible and MOS did that very well. I'd give it a solid B+ and look forward to the sequel (and dream of a Batman/Superman world's finest movie...hhnnnggg).FTF did you like MOS ?

So it's a 6/5?Before Midnight has been the best movie of the year so far by far. Im3-4.5/5STID-5/5Mos-4/5F6-4/5
