Is there any way, since it's doing such massive business, that theaters can decide to keep THG on their IMAX instead of switching to Wrath? Or because of a prior contact/agreement they have no choice?They need to put together some TV spots advertising that the IMAX showings will end on Thursday. I have a feeling it'd boost attendance over the weekdays

Based off this performance by a non-3D movie in March, TDKR is hitting $80+m OD.I know it hard to believeHopefully TDKR can come and shock us with another great OD.

In only 4 years, TDK's OD was matched by a series entry in March...that's just crazy.A $135-140m ow is crazy too...my TA ow prediction is only $140m atm lol

What kind of theater average would that be?Whatever it opens to I can't see it falling below a 2 IM, 70M should lead to a 140m opening.

Me neither, it's driving me nuts. For years it's been straight forward dollar estimates, but the biggest release so far this year she decides to go with monkey math fluctuating theater averages???None of this adds up. The figures she quotes for NM and TDK and DH2 don't add up. The numbers she's throwing out here don't add up either. It makes no sense, and I don't understand why out of the blue, she would decide to report like this

Why wouldn't its OD theater average be factoring in the midnight grosses, which are counted towards its OD?

Ah, nicely done spizzer. And that seems about right, a $65m-ish OD, which is remarkable for a first entry, March released movie.So as of 8PM PST, the figure is 12000. As of 4PM PST, the figure was 9900. Multiply both figures by 4137 and we get 49.64m and 40.96 million. So 8.7 million in the last 4 hours, with 1-2 hours to go on the East Coast (12AM/1AM showings), and 4-6 hours left on the West coast. So this should end around 15000, I presume, which put the Friday figure at 62.06 million (extrapolation)
