  1. Just came from the theater and the energy was intense. Most people were either dressed up, or at least wearing Batman or Superman shirts. There was some friendly rivalry stuff between people wearing Superman stuff (like me) and people wearing Batman stuff. The crowd cheered a few times (mainly for the first real Wonder Woman scene) and laughed a lot more than I thought they would. There were more jokes here than there were in Man of Steel. Most people clapped at the end. As for my opinion, I can objectively say the critics were way too hard on this film. It's not perfect, but it definitely isn't bad. I'll give it an 8/10 for now, but I'm seeing it again tomorrow morning and will see if my opinion changes.
  2. I think it's cool that this year is going to shatter the pre-May $100 million movie record. I remember when we'd be lucky if two films made it to the century mark before summer. Then in 2009 there were five. This year, we already have Made It Ride Along The Lego Movie 300 2 Locks Divergent Mr Peabody Captain America Should make it Noah Rio 2 Outside shot (probably not, but not impossible) Transcendence Non-stop I don't think we'll double the record with 10, but we should at least have 7, maybe 8, which is pretty amazing. I think we could see 40 $100 million films this year.
  3. I wish this thread was called Creed (Office Spinoff). Then I'd see the shit out of this movie.
  4. Ironically, everyone is talking about the prospects of Taylor Kitsch turning around his career without mentioning another movie that happens to be out right now. In my mind, starring in a couple of bombs (that don't have much to do with the star) don't increase an actor's risk factor as much as, oh I don't know, getting high and falling asleep in a neighbor's kids bed, yet here we are. Point is, Kitsch still has a lot of time to define himself as a legitimate movie star.
  5. JL or at least Superman + Batman would make sense, but it would be hard to predict if the project is sans Bale.
  6. What are we thinking for today? I'm done thinking rationally about this crazy film, but I still think TDK's non-holiday Monday record is safe. A drop similar to Spider-man 10 years ago would put it around 20. You would think that anything north of $20 million would make the PTB happy.
  7. Am I the only one who thinks that The Avengers 2 will have a smaller opening weekend? The Avengers was really a once-in-a-lifetime event; a culmination of four years of popular movies, with a bunch of superstars packed into one mega-film. It was unlike anything we have ever seen. The Avengers 2 is just going to be another sequel to a popular movie. As I type this, I don't feel myself as excited for TA2 as I was for last Friday night, and that has nothing to do with quality. I loved The Avengers.Of course, there are a number of factors to consider, like the quality of CA2 IM3 and Thor 2, the hype/trailers of TA2, etc. but for now I'm predicting a slightly lower opening weekend for the sequel.
  8. FWIW, this will need to hit $193,738,923 to pass Spiderman as the biggest record breaker of all time.Meaning, Spiderman broke Potter's record by $24,549,495. The number listed above will beat Deathly Hallows 2 by one more dollar.
