12 is by far the weak link in the chain but it has some good moments. 11 to 12 is like going from D2 to D3 in the mighty ducks franchise.

WW has jumped above cars on both Fandango and Movie Tickets, which should hopefully translate to it making more than cars today.
Is there a correlation there? Has anyone tested that out? WW seems like a film even now that certain fans want to buy ahead of time. Animated films are always more walk-up. -
I think WW is guaranteed to have a softer drop than cars on Sunday. So all it really has to do is increase maybe 5% more on Saturday then cars and it should come in second for the weekend.
Animated kids movie though dude... Remember Cars itself jumped 70% lol. -
The lowest top ten increase was The Mummy at +61.6%, seriously that is nuts for a summer Friday.

Is that Hunger Games theme park wherever it's supposed to be still happening? lol talk about a bad idea.
The point is that more than ever people want to go inside their favorite movies, I'm not sure how well Avatarland will do but I don't think it will be poorly. Hunger Games doesn't seem like a great idea but who knows?

The Han ban is one of the issues we are seriously having on this board.... If Han had been making fun of or being salty over any other film nobody would bat an eye. where was the rule book Tuesday-Friday when everyone else was pitching their knives and shotguns at the Transformers fans??
Its the inconsistency and the infantile mentality of some fanboys on this board that make it hard to enjoy being here much anymore.
Oh and someday people will look back at WW and realize that they got caught up in the momentary hype and the film isn't the second coming that all the sunshine and rainbow people make it out to be. Then we can have intelligent conversation about it's many many faults (as well as the many things it does right.)
**On Topic**
What the heck happened with the Friday increases?? Although its still not enough to save
All Eyez (or am I being banned for being negative toward this film almost every day?)Transformers from a poor 5 day gross.I always love your posts dude. Thanks for getting it. We are all a bit puzzled about what happened yesterday.

Star Wars Land is a direct response to how successful Wizarding World has been, I don't think there could be higher praise than that.

Seriously those Potter movies are on every weekend on ABC family or whatever it is now. He's as prevalent as ever despite not having any new content.

I miss Harry Potter.
Where did he go? -

@WrathOfHan, the thread ban will be lifted at 4pm eastern time.
btw, I just went shopping at Target with Tele Jr and somehow ended up with Blurays of Spider-Man 1 and 2 and a Captain Underpants book. Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age.
Good call man. Soft for wanting your kid to have fun? I don't think so.

I see a bunch of folks who don't like rules.
And then I see Wonder Woman kicking their ass at the box office.
Well we know one person who reported @WrathOfHan lol.

Not going to dwell on this but don't some of you have better things to do than report someone for ribbing how much the WW praise train is on here? @WrathOfHan is a good member for our community.

@WrathOfHan - due to complaints received from multiple users, you are being threadbanned from this weekend thread until further notice.
Please contact @Telemachos or @Water Bottle if you have any questions.
Seems a bit harsh guys, damn.

perhaps is due to the weaker than expected performance from transformer 5, and no other major film is opening this week, meaning much more bigger space than expected for holdovers.
It could be a bit of this although certain movies that have zero crossover audience with TF5 also increased huge.

Maybe the weather was too hot outside so the movies were a good place to go for air conditioning? I don't know either.
Just to push back on this a bit the record heat from earlier in the week especially in the west started to cool off significantly yesterday so I don't think that's it.

Whats up with those giant increases yesterday? It's not just wonder woman almost every film in the top 10 had an incredible increase. 47MD with 89%! Wtf.
The animated films dude both 70%+! If you go back and look at all the comparables over June it's basically unheard of for this specific weekend.

-
Underpants and Cars both jumping 70%+... You just don't see animated kids films jump that high Thu-Fri this time of year.

What's up with these big Friday increases near end of June?
I agree dude, this weekend is usually very slow. What happened yesterday? -
Did not anticipate an animated film like Cars 3 jumping 70% Thu-Fri during the summer.

Asgard over estimated a bit for WW? Hmmmmm the $25.7m club is still in play. Something like 7.35/10.15/8 could be a win for the under.
-
DM3, Spidey, Dunkirk should all do really well given the blah we've seen outside of WW in June. Apes 3, who really knows but I have under predicted that franchise now twice in a row.
-
July looks good, I think we've got a few hits lined up before GOT takes over the media.
