Another example of Cinemascore being pointless. How many times do we have this discussion? It's a terrible gauge that doesn't tell you much of anything.
Midnight showings (like for me personally ROTS & TDK) are some of my fondest memories going to the movies. There was an energy to them, waiting in line knowing you'd be tired for work/school tomorrow... That was very unique when it was the first and only option to see it the night before.
I'm not trying to prove anything honestly, it's all a matter of personal opinion anyways. Its discount Tuesday, so it was always expected to bump a decent amount.
Last day of the major heat wave appears to be tomorrow, I'd be very surprised if we see better weekend/day holds for this upcoming stretch. No question super hot weather is a short term boom for theaters.
Saying this again, it may have an effect but it may not given the last weekend in June (that doesn't intersect with the 4th) is historically pretty slow.
