Should I be happy with that 10CL number?
Dont want to be THAT guy but... If you are going to start the weekend thread, you have to change the title when we get the numbers. #doyourjob

Except the thing about Walt being so special the show dumped him at the end of Season 2 and promptly ignored that plotline for the rest of the way.
Or why was Libby in that mental institution while Hurley was there in the Dave episode?
-
With the great reception guys it seems impossible the legs for 10CL won't be a lot better than the original?
-
Amazing this is so well recieved, was not expecting that at all.
-
Nice bump! 4x multiplier exactly to $300m, should be doable.
-
Anyone disappointed with $73m is on something, way better than I was expecting. $300m is in play, can admit I way way off on that.

Since 50% is probably the average that goes back to the studio, most is probably a bit overstating. Sure, it can get up to 60%. At most.
That's absolutely incorrect, it's way higher than 50-60%. But thanks anyways.

I've never done it but I could understand it if you walk out in the first 15 minutes or so but there re people who try to get their money back after watching most if not all of the movie. Those are the same people who eat most of a meal then complain they don't want to pay the check or the people who return books to stores after reading most of it (and mess up the spine or bend pages).
Super tacky, those people have no class but then again does it really surprise you these days?
-
Since most of ticket $ goes to studios (as opposed to concessions which all goes to the theaters themselves), I actually would be ok with walking out & asking for $ back if it was a movie I really hated. Hasn't happened yet because I'm very picky about which films I go to see.

I've never actually had the experience of seeing someone leave a movie. Most people who I see attend films are pretty gracious about buying their tickets and then watching the film all the through.
DDD you know you are allowed to leave a film and ask for your $ back? Is it tacky? Absolutely but if you hate something enough & don't want to waste your time further why not?

The Bay Area is a relatively isolated area, though. When a Nor'Easter pounds the East Coast that's like an eighth of the US population
Fair enough, there are still millions being affected by this storm though (I was under the impression So Cal would get the same but the impact there has been muted so far). We'll see, it may have no noticeable impact.

People mock rain as a non event on the West Coast but it causes a lot of problems especially in California, not so sure the bump for Zootopia today is going to be as big as some are expecting. Way worse than it was yesterday.
-
Increased $1.5m from Variety estimates? Not bad, major ? is the bump today.
-
It will probably happen but since it's a kids movie largely I don't see estimates moving up significantly from $18m but we'll see. The online entertainment mags tend to underpredict as we all know.

It will, so...
Lol $70m+ isn't assured man no matter how much you want it to be.

Nice job pinning the weekend threads mods! Hurray for mobile users!

Zootopia has to open to $65m-$70m+ for $300m to be realistic. I know reviews are very positive but getting substantially above a 4x multiplier is not an easy task.

That's a decent number but nothing earth shattering. Will be a much bigger walk up, Saturday movie as expected.

28 hours until season 4, who is pumped?

I think there is a clear trend/tradition of people going to the movies to see the award winners day after the Oscars. Those are some really impressive holds for Spotlight/Revenant once again.

Another prediction, ratings will be a multi year low. Anyone disagree?
Nailed it, 8 year low.
Weekend Thread: Grimsby Bros leads the way with massive 3.1M, 10CL has decent 25.2M, Zootopia crumbles to $50M ;) P.31

Was off on my yearly predict as of now and way off on the Zoo $300m chances, dare I say it's likely $300m happens?
