  1. Sorry, but this is nonsense. EVERYONE my age (just out of college) knows who he is after TDK/Inception. Pseudo intellectual fratboys would have day long discussions about the depth of Inception.
  2. Next weekend is sure going to be interesting no matter what. Sequels to two high grossing franchises releasing together, one under the radar and possible dark horse animated movie, one wreck of a big budgeted holdover that released just a week earlier, one unexpected smash hit holdover that released just two weeks before, and one mammoth success holdover that released three weeks before. This is a first of its kind scenario and I can't wait to see who comes out on top and who burns in the horrible carpile inferno.
  3. Especially annoying purist fanboys who would rather have had a racist caricature instead of the awesomeness that was Trevor!
  4. Another fun movie I enjoyed him in. I believe he could have easily broken out to become a smash success, it was just that he never got an iconic role/franchise like Wolverine, Tony Stark, Sparrow etc.
  5. He really wasn't all that. To be fair to him though, the role was underdeveloped as well and did not pay off all that build-up at all.
  6. But CO's role was soo much more than just "quirky". He was downright fierce. He was also great in GP and apparently great in CoM and Inside Man too. Nobody could salvage a bland script like KA, especially when paired opposite that passively hateful Knightfall.
  7. I have to still watch CoM. One of my friends hates me for still not watching it, he is THAT crazy about it.
  8. He stole the show completely in Closer, and that's saying a lot as everybody else in the film really delivered as well. And oh yeah, he was great in GP too.
  9. Yeah I agree. In the Buffy comics written by Whedon, he had a tribute to slash fic everywhere by featuring two of the most desired male characters in the franchise, Angel and Spike, in a slashy position although it was just a dream. And he has straight out admitted to expecting slash to be written about characters from the new Agent of SHIELD tv show! He even seems hopeful about the prospect. OTOH Cameron works so well because he incorporates classic storytelling (romance, good versus despicable evil, tragedy) into modern genres like sci fi, so there's something for everyone of every age and every gender.
  10. I don't think it was planned though like the way I suspect Cameron and Whedon plan out what to give their women audiences. Even "Heath Joker Rockstar" just happened as a fluke. Also, Inception was the first Nolan flick coming post-TDK, Leo's first after Shutter Island, and WB marketed the hell out of it, giving it a premium summer release date usually reserved only for the biggest of blockbusters. I think it would have done the same even if you substituted Shia LaDouche and Robin Williams for JGL and Hardy respectively.
  11. Yeah, I think this is the only reason Nolan's movies (save TDK which was a very special case) don't make the same amount of ginormous bucks as Cameron blockbusters and Avengers despite their brilliance. He does not really take into consideration women audiences.
  12. I definitely didn't love it to death and neither did anyone in my viewing group other than the Cumber Fanboy Friend who dragged all of us to watch it in the first place. And our criticisms managed to sway him a little too. And this coming from someone who really liked the first film. So no, I don't think this will connect on the same level as the first one.
  13. I feel like crying at the hatchet job SM2 and SM3 did with MJ's characterization. She is such a personable doll in the comics despite facing the same career and family struggles movie MJ faced. And she would never readily agree to marry Jameson's son just like that. They made her so horribly dependent on the men in her life (Flash in high school, then Harry, then Peter, then Jameson Jr., then Peter again, then Harry again, then Peter again) that if the independent Mary Jane from the comics were to miraculously come to life and watch the Raimi movies, she would throw herself off the Brooklyn Bridge in shock.
  14. No, his role was really underdeveloped. Which makes the decision to revolve the marketing around him that much more foolish.
