box office wise this could be the disappointment of the XMas season, Assassin's Creed may do better worldwide
-
It definitely looks like a Transformers film, probably won't win any new fans, but looks better than AOE already

Quote3rd UPDATE, 10:10PM: No amount of prayers and candle lighting will save Sony’s Inferno from eternal damnation at the domestic box office as the $75M-budgeted production is crashing toward an estimated three-day No. 1 opening of $16.6M after a $5.5M-$6M Friday (that includes $800K previews).
At the present time, Inferno‘s FSS is -64% from its previous installment, 2009’s Angels & Demons ($46.2M), which was 40% off from 2006’s Da Vinci Code‘s $77M opening. Da Vinci Code continues to stand as a record opening for both director Ron Howard and leading man Tom Hanks’s live action features.

STB marketing was horrible from the start, currently a problem for all Paramount movies. STB plot didn't really scream for a bigscreen adventure, maybe they should went with a familiar but tired klingon villain that was more marketable.

I haven't seen Avatar since the cinema, at the time i enjoyed it more than i thought i would, but have not thought about it since
I wonder how these sequels will do, overseas will do well but domestic will need the "wow factor", but never bet against James "fucking" Cameron

Lol, it seems like Paramount had a bunch flops and wants Tom to take a paycut, its the suits that should take a paycut or resign

Another disaster for Paramount, they need to fire everyone in charge there, time for new blood

This seems interesting, but seems misguided like Cameron planning a future trilogy...one film at a time
-
STB should have never moved from its release date in early July

Anybody else really turned off by the way the action was shot? A major weight on the movie for me, in spite of easily the reboot series' best script.
what movie? Can't be worse than Civil War shakey cam action, which was unwatchable

TMNT2 marketing was awful. All of it. Beyond had an awful teaser but that was it. The marketing starting on the May trailer until release was great.
Marketing may have seemed bad, but TMNT went to Wondercon, Cinemacon, MTV Movie Awards, while Trek was no where to be seen...and a Super Bowl spot

anything over 60m would be a huge win for STB given the lackluster marketing from Paramount , seems like TMNT2 had better marketing. I guess anything over 400m WW keeps the franchise alive given that its Paramount

6 + 8.2 (+36%) + 6.2 (-24%) = ~20.4 (-55.7%) maybe for GB
Just like last weekend and the weekdays, nothing to talk about.
For GB thats the best case scenario.... pretty meh for the start of a franchise
