  1. That was pretty good. I love James McAvoy and always know he would be great, but he still wow me in this. There are many good performances all around, but James McAvoy is the ace to me. I love JLaw but I'm rather mixed about her as Mystique. The thing that I like is that it's finally an X-Men movie with Wolverine that doesn't feel like a Wolverine and friends show. There were good balances between characters and great interactions. Actions are pretty good. Visuals were too.The thing I don't like is the overtly expository, with some pretty bad dialogues. And I guess I'll never be a big X-Men fan cause comics or movies, there is always that problem of them being unnecessarily preachy to me. It's a good entry, and great way to reset the mess-up timeline in the X-franchise (even though it left plot holes and unexplained things, I can live with that)I'm looking forward to the next installment.A-/B+
  2. It's more of a mess than I thought going in. The script is just all over the place, with stupid plot points and bad dialogues. There are quite a few bright moments, but then followed by many other WTF scenes. I enjoyed the acting but I feel that the core relationship is pretty shallow and artificial, which is a shame cause Garfield and Stone had great chemistry. It was the way it was written that was disappointing. I'm of the opinion that the direction is nothing good to write home about, and a more capable director would be able to elevate such a bad script to some degrees. There are some good and thrilling action scenes that I liked even though CGI seems dodgy. Dane Dehaan really deserved better than this. He was good, but his relationship with Peter, how and why he became a villain is just so stupid and contrived. I don't even want to start on Jaimie Fox's Electro.Overall, it wasn't terrible, it was fairly enjoyable. But there are good potential and talent wasted. And please Sony, you can handle Spidey right, just take the first step and get rid of K&O (seriously, what is up with their obsession for magical blood?)I think I'd give it a C.
  3. People don't even bother to reply I've seen it and it's too much wrong that it's not worth replying.
  4. DOFP looks to follow FF6 drops so far, but hopefully the Monday drop will be softer.
  5. Blended, Neighbors and TASM2 all fell a bit short of estimates. Poor Spidey.
  6. DeNiro's performance is undoubtedly the movie, but I also love Joe Pesci lot in this.I think it's a great movie, one of Scorsese's bests. Gripping and honest, with great acting performances all around. There are many good and memorable scenes in the movie, but my favorite gotta be the ending scene when Jake was doing his monologue and pep talking before going on stage. The manner, the delivery of lines are perfect. Robert DeNiro is really a one of a kind actor.
  7. So do you guys think it'll be a close race for No.1 between X-Men and Maleficent next week? Btw, what is Maleficent tracking at?
  8. So what are the other advantages that you didn't know at all before it was released but now you do?
  9. Yes, of course they did. And now they also said they knew it would be big all along. That's more convenient, isn't if?
  10. Hey, calm down Ed. You're doing good. Go on and use that Nolan power to save us all.
  11. And yet the general predictions for CA2 were in the 500M range before release when everyone of course know and believe strongly in TA bump (that apparently give it a 200M+ boost)
  12. So Ed is already abusing his power? That seems a bit soon. At least have some patience and wait out a bit Ed.
  13. Do we have a review thread for Raging Bull? I couldn't find it. If there isn't, I would like to request it.
