  1. There was a fan base, but the movie also sold books. For example more people bought the books after the studio decided to make a movie than before. This article has some explanation from the studio bosses from Lionsgate:http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/19/business/media/how-hunger-games-built-up-must-see-fever.html?_r=2&pagewanted=1&ref=movies
  2. Still Happy Feet 2 was the biggest flop.I don't think that War Horse will get a nomination, I bet that TGWTDT will be there. Even so the increases should be minimal in any case.
  3. Well at least is still a better guess than Grease. BTW Grease was released in june so no chance at number 1 in march.
  4. According to this http://en.wikipedia....e_United_States Straight Time is more likely for late march.Mine is Ghostbusters
  5. I'm pretty sure. It got nominations from DGA, WGA and some other technical Guilds. My guess is that it will be in the top 7-8 movies. If there are 8 BP nominee it's in. If there are only 5, probably not, but I hope.
  6. BOM doesn't know how to add friday + saturday + sunday for Dragon Tatoo. That is 6.8 not 8.3 Let's hope that the actuals change that.
  7. I was expecting a lot more that this for Dragon Tatoo. Even that early estimation of 7.3 seemed weak, but this 6.8 is really bad.I really hope for a boost from the Oscar nominations.
  8. Yeah Alvin 2 dropped 87% in the second monday of the 2010.
  9. 10. Why can't DT get to 110 or even more without Oscars?I mean if I compare this with It's Complicated they look very similar. Opened around Christmas and after the 3rd weekend both have 76 millions with basically the same amount in the 3rd weekend(if the estimates are correct). Also It's Complicated had some GG noms, but not a single Oscar one. And the drops for DT seems somewhat better.
