Another player with a top 15 score to worry the summer game big guns. With only one week of mid-game play, Punishment technically isn't a pre-season only wonder, but there was enough on show here to suggest that a committed stab at the weekly questions combined with gross predictions for WW, could have made this player a force to be reckoned with .

Dropping out of the weekly phase mid-game, mixed with some painful SOTM predicting meant Snoopy was never going to challenge for honours this year. However one of the handful of people to score 6 figures for the OW question as well as very strong showings in both the Hunger Games and Low Gross section suggest there is a lot to build on here for a future challenge.

So close to the million points mark, but yet so far! Wrath is the first player on our list to play the majority of the game and they showed a mixture of stupendous highs (only maximum score for Hunger Games) mixed with depressing lows (Dat 250k top 15 score ).

 

There is much here to take positives from, but there are areas of the pre-season game that need to be worked on before summer comes too.

Our first member of the million club is one of the two players I am especially indebted to for the hard work they put in during the game too with keeping updates of grosses for us all to see. It's awesome and I'd give them each a million bonus points if I could but sadly it isn;t explicitly stated anywhere that i can add that rule so I can't.

 

Jajang had a mighty set of OW predictions yet sadly a weak top 15 and another occasionial victim of SOTM greed meant that Jajang's challenge was derailed in too many corners for it to make it to the intended destination atop the podium of Winter Greatness.

Just sneaking in ahead of Jajang by 4000 points, avi was a newcomer to BSG or BWG, but showed signs of promise in many areas. One of only players to guess the top 3 in order for the Top as well as the top 4 OW too. There were other strong showings in the Lowest grossing section too which suggests that with more discipline when approaching SOTM's and more consistent weekly game, we could be witnessing a possible contender come the summer.

A slight jump in points now to bcf in 13th and another player with 'what might have been credentials'. Good weekly scores combined with positive results from SOTms and pre-seasons built a strong foundation upon which excellent Hunger Games and Low Gross predictions flourished. However the top 15 was just too weak this time around to challenge, but a place just outside the top half is not the end of the world.

Defying the laws of nature just by making it to the end of the game, the Grandaddy of the internet: Telemachos put on a stunningly half-hearted display this winter. With a unique blend of exquisite predictions and half-answered weekly questions, tele cemented his legacy as a Summer/Winter game also-ran.

Like an English rugby player during Fresher's Week at Bolton University, Filmovie shows yet again he has a pre-game unrivaled in boxoffice. During the summer game, he managed to take down the whole event while hardly competing at all during the season and he almost pulled off the feat again here.

 

An awesome top 15 and top 10 WW was almost 200k higher than any other player in just those two sections combined suggesting that any committment to the weekly questions this winter could have seen him succesfully pull off the double. We will all be hoping he does commit 100% to the summer game otherwise we all are screwed yet again.

We are getting into the serious 'what could have beens' section now as everyone is within enough distance of the winners to be able to almost pinpoint where the game was lost. Grey for example had a stunning top 15 and the best preseasons of anybody, however a mixture of a poor WW top 10 and dropping out of the weekly questions with a few weeks to go, means they be celebrating a postion with one more zero than they would have liked.

The other hero among the playing community that helped make this game better than it already was by creating weekly updates on all grosses for all films. Laguy is invaluable to what makes the game fun before even a prediction is made and yet for a long time it looked like they would also make a big play to take home the big prize too.

 

However a week WW top 10 cost them hard and allowed others to etch out a lead that could not be clawed back. however strong and consistently weekly results, and a good top 15 suiggest that Laguy will return and be out for blood.

Now it's time to introduce a hero, a behemoth dare I say of winter predicting. This unsung hero, a man for whom modesty knows no bounds, fought against time zones and classes teaches Korean teenagers to bring the ultimate in winter predicting to the masses.

 

This unassuming collosus of a man stared in the face of North Korean Censored and declared: NO!! You will not derail my game. He looked Paddington Bear right in the eye and told him: Move Dates at you peril sir! He was both the hero this forum deserved and the one they needed right now.

 

A stunning WW top 10 and Preseason 15 showed that this player was obviously the man to beat. And even allowing the lesser players to catch up by deliberately appearing weak in the weekly questions, this title was still surely in the bag for this titan of the Box Office...

 

Alas a two minute trailer for John Wick and the many mouths of the Nolanites was to change all that, when Annie was serupticiously dumped from the top 15 in favour of John Wick and Interstellar was sent rocketing up to 2nd in the prediction table from the mere 6th of before.

 

Without these changes we would surely be looking that the grand champion of us all and considering nobody else in the world can claim to have made decisions that could have been made differently in hindsight, surely regardless of things like numbers and statistics, this god-like chasmmi is the one true champion of this game.

Another player let done by the WW predictions. Strong top 15, very strong Hunger Games, Low gross and pre-season, Geraldino just lacked the little something extra to push for the podium. We at at the point now where there are no weak players so every point lost needs to be made up elsewhere and with Summer fast approaching there is not much improving that needs to be done for a credible assault on the summer title to become a reality and not a mere dream.

Only the second player so far to score both 300k on top 10 WW and 500k on top 15 Dom, Spaghetti looked like a challenger for the title all through the game and truth be told, if it wasn't for some missed weeks here and there, who knows where they could have placed. The 4 weekly questions and 4 SOTMs left unanswered during the course of the game may well have proved the difference between 6th and... umm better than 6th.

That said, this is still a very strong performance and one that marks Spag as one of the surefire favourites when summer rears it's ugly pasta-loving head.
