the first 40 minutes are badly paced, but the rest goes smoothly until the never ending last 10 minutes. It must be the prettiest of all Polanski films.

I've seen this version on Netflix but never watched it. I do love Thomas Hardy's story though. I've seen both mini series and I'll need to give this one a watch.

Death and the Maiden is better than Tess, better performances, better pace and killer ending.

 

I'll just say that I'm not a fan of movies like Tess, the story didn't justify a 3 hours long film imo

It's weird because I don't follow directors as much as you guys and I didn't know that Polanski directed more than half of these films.

 

Chinatown and The Pianist are two of my favorite films of all time. Go figure.

It was supposed to be funny? LOL I thought it was just a b-grade vampire movie. I saw it when I was a kid. My brothers watched all kinds of vampire movies.

Fearless Vampire Killers is one of my favorites of his... Gorgeous vistas, awesome makeup and garb, surrealist Looney Toon humor scrambled with a send ups to Hammer Horror flicks. Alfie Bass is hilarious.
