ddddeeee
Why? They're worse than the Oscars for the 'We like this movie a lot, therefore it excells in all categories' nonsense. Also the token 'credible' nominations that make no sense. Pike? Simmons? If there's going to be an awards ceremony for genre films why are there non-genre films nominated? It undermines everything. Pike = Gone Girl = thriller. They do have a thriller category. As long as they do not nominate movies in genres they do not belong to I can live with a few noms of actors/actresses for... best actor in film (haven't seen Whiplash yet, so I am not sure why he might gotten nominated) I am a bit astonished about to find American Sniper in best ... thriller????? I think CA 2,... noms look in general o.K., so... I'll wait for who/what movie will win what award.
terrestrial
Hmmm, what would you vote for e.g. best action / adventure award and still be in the 'mood' of an Saturn Award out of this year's nominees? Exodus: Gods and Kings Inherint Vice Lucy Noah Snowpiercer Unbroken To me Exodus (fantasy, if an atheist or... epic drama (double meaning included) or ???), Unbroken (bio-drama), and Noah (epic drama) do not belong in that category, haven't seen even a trailer of Inherint Vice so the most matching to the Saturn Awards (meant for Horror and Sci-Fi movies, even if they now add other genres too) and also more adventerous than the others even if I'd not list adventure as the first genre, especially Snowpiercer) seem to be Snowpiercer and Lucy. I am really wondering what others might think about that

I am really wondering what others might think about that Lucy & Snowpiercer partially fit the Action part of the category but they're really sci-fi. Cap 2 would fit better (it also fits in thriller). Movies like The Raid 2 and John Wick that are missing would better fit under Action films. Guardians of the Galaxy is probably the closest to an action/adventure film on that list it just happens to take place in space. Inherent Vice is a mystery (that also a bit wacky and funny while also being a bit dark and depressing). Unbroken is a survival drama/bio pic. What's listed in this category seems like movies they wanted to honor but ran out of space in other categories or couldn't find the right category for them.

Thank you for your time That sounds logical GotG is for me a kind of space opera with strong parts in action / adventure. Especially when they take of(f) (?) at the end, that feels like 'let's get on to new adventures' Lucy/Snowpiercer: that's what I meant with yes to action..., but not as 1st named genre. When you could vote, whom would you give your vote in that categeory based on it's about a Saturn Award? And how would you chose, ignoring the ~ wrong genres and vote for the best out of all nominees or vote out of the ones that match at least partly? I try to get into the mindset of a voter, how react a voter if something like that is the list. I mean, to be a voter for a specialised award could/should mean to have a POV out of the love or strong interest for those genres, or?
