FTF
Wow, the bar has definitely been set for Avengers! Was pretty much set 3 years ago by the first Avengers movie though.
mahnamahna
It's a good omen. In 2012, Katniss overperformance was like a rousing opening gig for the main TA gig. Now in 2015, Dom and Crew open for AoU. Not to mention there's two other good things about 2015 over 2012. Better release slate. Summer 2012 was pretty sparse beyond Avengers - only TDKR surpassed $300 million after Avengers. This summer, Jurassic World and Minions should be able to. Inside Out also has an outside chance. Fall 2015. Every weekend from September 18 to October 16 has a potential $100 million grosser. The slate for Fall 2012 was pretty bland aside from Taken 2, Hotel Transylvania, Looper, Pitch Perfect and Argo. This year, there's Black Mass, Maze Runner 2, Everest, Hotel Transylvania 2, The Walk, Steve Jobs, Bridge of Spies, Goosebumps, Crimson Peak, plus Jem & the Holograms. I don't see how Fall 2015 doesn't increase upon every fall season except 2013. And if Pan or San Andreas were to move to October, 2013 would be possible too. This fall should give 2015 the edge over the rest of the 2010s in terms of attendance. 2016 is looking even stronger (best Feb-Apr slate I've ever seen, promising Sep-Oct slate, solid summer/holiday) I'm excited for ticket sales this year and next Edited April 14, 2015 by mahnamahna
