Accursed Arachnid!™
American Sniper and now Furious 7 are going to do more DOM than ALL of the 3D Superhero films from 2014. More than huge brands like Spider-Man, X-Men and Captain America and surprise breakouts like GOTG. More than the Hunger Games and Transformers franchises as well.

Accursed Arachnid!™
First one dropped 50% Tokyo Drift dropped 59% First one came out in a different era...and it was the first one. The first HP film came out that year and dropped 36% in its second weekend and was the only film in the franchise to open on a Friday and get a 3+ multi. It's amazing how much the box office landscape has changed in 15 years.
ecstasy
12 days in many countries.... Ok thanks! Still less than 2 weeks. Still a long way to go with this. Avengers better gear up. American Sniper and now Furious 7 are going to do more DOM than ALL of the 3D Superhero films from 2014. More than huge brands like Spider-Man, X-Men and Captain America and surprise breakouts like GOTG. More than the Hunger Games and Transformers franchises as well. Curry! Baby faced assassin. LOL I saw this game. And when was Captain America a huge franchise? Fast 5 beat both Cap 1 and Thor 1 at the box office. kitik
These are some really good drops all around. Everything in the top 10 (except F7) dropped under 40%. That's what happens when you get jack shit for new openers. Drops should be a bit worse by comparison next weekend, with Unfriended and Paul Blart opening, but then the weekend after that with Age of Adaline and Little Boy should see more small drops.

ecstasy
Pre Avengers Cap doesn't count. Fast movies are a huge brand. Not a surprise it would beat Cap 2. Its not like American Sniper, the little movie that came out of nowhere, lol. Now that is truly a surprise. mahnamahna
These are some really good drops all around. Everything in the top 10 (except F7) dropped under 40%. The weekend before Avengers 2... I'm expecting 5-25% drops for everything (including F7). Calm before the storm lol. It's the only reason why Furious 7 has an outside chance at $400 million DOM Crazy to think 2015 could have 8-9 $300 million+ DOM grossers American Sniper (99.8% of BO from 2015 on) Furious 7 Avengers 2 Jurassic World Inside Out (dark-horse but Up adjusts to $320-330 million. It could happen, especially since it looks to be significantly more kid-friendly) Minions Spectre Mockingjay Part 2 Star Wars Episode VII Obviously, not all of those will do it (Inside Out and Spectre most likely), but that's mighty impressive. Especially since $340 million is the most any 2014 release could do.

Spidey Freak
Wow, the bar has definitely been set for Avengers! It's a good omen. In 2012, Katniss overperformance was like a rousing opening gig for the main TA gig. Now in 2015, Dom and Crew open for AoU.
