Thursday's # FF 7 - $1.2B WW = #6 All Time

Recommended Posts

I know this has probably been talked to death by now, but it's absolutely astonishing that the 6th sequel to a film that probably wouldn't even adjust to 100m OS will do only what Titanic and Avatar have done before: Make 1B+ OS. No other franchise other than HP has broken 900m...even with the advantage of 3D. Not The Avengers(yet), not Star Wars, not LOTR/Hobbit, not POTC, not Batman, not Spider-Man, not THG, not a single Disney film, not any film without Cameron in the director's chair.

Amazing.

Frozen is going down by Monday. Avengers 2 may cause Furious 7 to end below Deathly Hallows 2.

Avenger 2 may slow it down, but FF7 is definitely going to end up above DH2 by the end of next week, especially with a strong run in China, where AOU won't open until May 12.

But won't f7 lose most of its theaters well before May 12? Movies don't stay in theaters long there like here.

It has 30 days in China, and will more than likely be ending it's run there by May 12. But it's only on it's 12-14 days from Today thru Sunday, plus there's a holiday next weekend that can boost FF7 3rd weekend.

It has 30 days but it loses theaters during that time as well. At least that's what normally happens. Is haven't been in the china thread in a while. Things may have changed.
