StarLord Posted April 12, 2022 Share Posted April 12, 2022 Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore opened with 252 325 tickets which is the best 3 day opening of 2022 so far and on par with The Crimes of Grindelwald (252 698). With Thursday, which was the opening day, it sold 283 414 tickets. The first FB movie opened with 183 141 tickets (3 days). It's a very good start but the Easter weekend will be very soft. I included also movies distributed by UIP (pink). UIP still do not report their numbers so these are rough estimates based on information about revenue from BOM/The Numbers and also other sources. UIP calls it "the best opening since 2019". With no major competition in the next few weeks and two months of summer vacation this could become the first +2M movie since Frozen 2. It will suprass today (or tomorrow) Sing 2 as the most successful movie of 2022 (estimated 1,46M admissions). This is definitely going to be the first pandemic-era movie with over 2M admissions... At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches 3M, as the first movie since 2018's Kler (5,18M).
